My father is an American. He's lived here for nearly 40 years. But yeas he born here? No he was born in Burma and moved here when he was 20. Not to mention 5 of thoes first 20 years he was in school in England.

So what would you concider him? Burmese or American?

And look at my mate Henry. He was born in Colombia but has moved to and has lived in the US for most of his life. Now what is he American or Colombian?

Now if color determins where you are from. What about Americans? True Americans are not white, black, tan, or yellow. They are a small number of red skinned people.

But yet you call anyone from NYC American even though their family are from Europe.

Your race is one thing but your nationality is another. Your passport doesn't say what color are you now does it?

You can be English even if you're skin is with green and blue dots or it's in red and purple stripes. It's only up to you to decide what nationality are you - depending on where you lived most of your life and with what nation do you identify the most.
