Another birthday has fallen on me! 
Yes. I am 23 years old... Yikes. I am truly old! (Though this isn't really a bday thread, my bday doesn't even show up because it's on a leap year)
But birthdays have a tendency to remind us of things; help us reflect and remember the past. Put things in perspective.
I remember in September of 2003 when I joined Ragezone. My friend, now bf, got me hooked on RZ Mir2, and in effect, RZ itself. I was 19 years old, in college, and quite the crazy person on this forum! :wink_5:
So I've been looking at some of my old threads, and wow! Such good times. I really have been blessed to be a part of this place. It's funny because a lot of my time here I felt completely the opposite, like things were going against me. It's hard to really explain unless you've been around for a while. I've had my share of good and bad times, much like RZ itself.
As the past few years have gone by I have matured a bit (though have kept my fun spirit), have had a steady boyfriend since last Valentines Day, and as some of you know am currently a Teacher. So even though my life has changed a bit year by year, I can still come back here and embrace the forum and have a good time.
I'm having a good time again. Something I didn't really expect. Seemed kind of out of the blue when I was offered a mod position again. I really do appreciate the chance that has been given to me (for the third time? fourth?). This time feels almost as special as when I was originally offered a shot. It feels damn good to be back.
RZ means a lot to me. Through the good and the bad, I feel that my time here has had meaning, most importantly to myself. For a long time I felt that I cheapened my experience by stating I was a girl, though I am glad I did, because I have been able to, more or less, be who I am in real life on here. Love me, hate me, cherish me: This is me. And I'm glad to share myself to you guys, and more importantly, learn and grow with you guys as well.
NoPeace, the silly rascal, my other half (and probably better half now), said:
And although he may be right in most cases, I can say with happiness and truth, that being a mod has meant more to me than bragging rights. And I do think its special to be a mod, but more importantly, be a member of this forum, a true member; one that will always cherish the good and learn from the bad.
So to Mental, to all the mods past and present, to all the members... Thanks for having me for the past few years. I hope to be a round for a bit longer. To anyone that is new to RZ or unsure of it; just have fun. And be vocal (in a good way). Remember to be thankful for what RZ gives you, but most importantly, don't forget to give back a little as well :smile:
