I bought some new ram, I currently have two sticks of 512MB (1GB) and I just bought 2GB (1gbx2). I took my old memory out and put the new ones in. Then I turned on the computer, it lights up and beeps. And that's all, it won't fully start. Emachines tech help is crap, so I'm relying on this.

May need to set the memory voltage up to 2.5v in BIOS

Edit: I asked a emachines tech, and they said theres no option to change my memory voltage.

Changing the voltage that high will probably fry it anyway. Did you check how much RAM your mobo can support?

DDR is able to support voltages that high.

Anyways you need to find out what the beep codes mean for your motherboard. Once you know it then you can figure out what the problem is.

NoPeace - out

Well, that's the whole point of the topic ;). Is to find out what the beeping noise is. Because I can't get anywhere with it.

how many beeps is it?
if its 2 beeps it means the ram isnt properly seated
and considering you using DDR make sure your ram is mounted on Slots one and three
i had that issue on my PC when i got new ram :)

It beeps constantly. Beep, 3-5 seconds later, Beep. Over and over. It's just not compatible with my computer I guess, so I'll return it.
