Since no one answered my thread in the MapleStory section, I suppose it would go here.

What this would do is(untested, not sure if works), is that you let someone choose even MORE hair styles, eye styles, and clothes if you edit this.

Open up your XML .wz files, and go into the ETC.wz, and open "MakeCharInfo.img.xml". You should get:

Okay, so this is an overview.
This color is where the eye styles(face) are located.
This color is where the hair styles are located.
This color is where the hair colors are located.
This color is where the skin colors are located.
This color is where the shirts are located.
This color is where the pants/skirts are located.
This "color" is where the shoes are located.
This "color" is where the weapons are located.
This "color" in addition to real colors, is where it is named. This is only for the hair colors, hair styles, and skin colors. Nothing else.

If someone could tell me the names for each one, that would be appreciated.

To add something, let's say, to the Male Hair Styles, do the following.
1. Get an ID. (30190)
2. Go to the file(MakeCharInfo.img.xml) and add the following code:

under

3. Then scroll down to:
Code:
				<string name="30000" value="Toben Hair"/>
and add under that:

				<string name="30190" value="Don't Know Hair's Name"/>
That's it.

For everything else besides hair styles, skin colors, and hair colors, just don't do step 3 and 4.

And that's that.

This won't work. It isn't sent by the server, it's only used by the client.

this is 100% client sided, *Couhg* editing the wz files directly on your client can change it though

I agree with the point he is making, I edited my map file's and added new NPC at FM, but did not edit any client. So, I guess it matter's what you are editing. I know I tried changing the NPC name's and it did not work.

Not everything is controlled by the client. NPC positioning is just one of the many things that can be controlled by the server. Way to make yourself seem like a jackass.

He wasn't wrong. Character creation options is one of the things that can't be controlled by the server.

I think you should work on how you interpret things, because I said that character creation options (hair, eyes, skin color, starting equipment) can't be controlled by the client. I'm aware that the client sends a packet to the server and vice versa when selecting a name and afterwards when the character creation is being confirmed.

And we're not buddies. Your attempts at looking down on me are getting annoying.

He said that EDITING Character creating is client sided....

And IF you edit the WZ on your client FOLDER it will work :p
