Pathfinding: Server or Client side?

Hi, I am posting this question here on the Habbo forum as what I am developing loosely related to Habbo.

I am wondering what are the arguments for server-side vs client-side pathfinding and if there are best practices you can suggest.

I suppose server-side pathfinding would eliminate lots of "desync" cases especially in a very dynamic environment with moving obstacles. However it would put an enormous strain on the server both in terms of CPU load, memory consumption - and even bandwidth (having to send back whole paths)

Any hints?
