hello there

i am new in this forum, so please excuse me if i raise up a problem that's already been discussed

the thing is that i really dunno how to connect to a server other than my own

i have the tools (i think) but i just don't know which ip i need to put and where

could smb please help me?

sigh well, for one 127.0.0.1 is local host , so u connecting to urself basically , and on which ip u use , depends on what u want to do , if u want to just run a local lan then u use ur lan Ip and if u want to play over the internet which is what i figure, then that would be ur WAN IP, which is hopefully a static ip , cuz if its a dynamic IP like mine is then ull have to constantly make a new l2.ini file to update the ip, which sucks...

Ok i am goiong to see if i can help you with this one, First thing is you need to get the client goto and download the full client, ya it's about 1.3Gigs

Next When thats all installed you get the server files I get these from the L2J Team here is the addy Just put this in a folder on the Desktop for easy access

Next you need to run convertdata.bat this will create some data files from the client, It will ask you the L2 dir which is C:\Program Files\Lineage II

In a command prompt run ipconfig and write down your IP adress since your on a lan it should be 192.168.*.*

Ok This is where you are hanging up i think in this part you will run updateini.bat it will again ask the install directory and then ask for the server address you would use The above IP Adsress This bat file changes the L2.ini file in your Lineage folder so the client will connect to your server.

Copy this L2.ini file from you Lineage II/System Directory and put this on your desktop, This file you will give to all your friends to use in there Lineage II/System folder, Next run that updateini.bat again this time use this adress 127.0.0.1 it will change it in your client to connect to the LOCAL server..

Make sure you edit the server.cfg file, Internal host would be 127.0.0.1 external would be the ip you wrote down.

Run startserver.bat and connect with the client

If you have any other questions feel free to send me a msg over msn [email protected]
