Sorry if anything like this has already been posted, I couldn't find any subject. Anyways the problem.

When I turn off my computer, and leave it off long enough for it to cool down, when I go to turn it back on, the LED lights on the front flash, and you can hear the motherboard and fan trying to start up but it just doesnt. If you keep at it long enough the computer does eventually fire up, and it has no problems running. I just live in dread of if I ever have to turn off my computer. To clarify what I mean, it's kind of like trying to start a car with a low battery, where the engine just doesn't want to fire up but will eventually if you keep turning the key.

I was wondering, could this be a problem with the power supply or possibly a loose connection? For about a year I turned my computer off and on every day, which I hear isn't good to do on your computer, so could that have damaged the power supply? I don't want to pay 25 bucks to have some guy tell me nothing is wrong with my computer, and then have to pay to get it fixed, so I thought I'd ask the experts. :wink2: Also if t might matter, there is an input port for headphones or w/e kinda close to the power button that got broken and jammed into the case, but I doubt that's what the problem is.

Thanks in advance!

Turning it off and on does hurt the computer but not enough for you to actually notice it. Maybe if you did it 20 times a day for 10 years it will hurt it.

And if it work then it works.

Also does it hang before the windows logo appears and loads the OS or does it happen at that point.

It it happens at that point then it's probably tons of virus on your computer that are loading themselves. Then you can easily rid that by either removing all the virus (which is very hard to do) or just reinstall the OS (you will loose all your data if you don't back it up).

If it hangs before the OS then there is some sort of hardware problem. What can it be? Anything as it's hard to tell unless you are there and actually testing things.

But if it works then don't waist money to fix it. Just wait until it doesn't work to fix something. =P

*woot my 11k post =P*

NoPeace - out

Yes, but I wont have to take it to the computer store, which costs 25 just to have your computer analyzed and also about 15 dollars on gas to get there.
