well i'm thinking of buying a PS3 or a Xbox 360...and i dun know which 1 i should buy...
what about the games? the multimedia-possibility? the quality(got a full hd TV and i want a great result on it)? price?
(btw a PS3 + PSP and cost about 400

if i had neither and i could have only 1 i would choose the ps3. its more powerful, the graphics are just so sexy, the online play is free and they have metal gear solid 4.

I own a 360 and the "small" experience ive had on my mates ps3 have it completely sold to me

I choose PS3 simply because I personally don't like X-Box games, or controllers. The controllers are too big imo, with buttons in places they don't have to be, but rather are there for "design". I'm also a diehard Socom fan (Played online for every version).

Ps3 fanboys and X-box fanboys here are pros and cons about BOTH systems.

X-box 360 Pro's: More people are online than the ps3, Great graphics.

X-box 360 Con's: The X-box don't last as long due to the evil "Red rings of doom" When that happens and you have no warrenty it will cost 100-200 it cost me 253 That includes shipping, bad customer service. and have to buy HD-DVD and wireless internet are not inclued when you buy a 360, not free online play 7.99 USD a month.

Playstaion3

PS3 Pros: Great look blu-ray and wireless comes with the ps3. Playstation 3 Home is a great way to meet new players. Free online play

PS3 Cons: High prices, A-lot less people online 360 has more.

You can choose what system fits your needs. Don't let the 360 and ps3 fanboys get to you. I have both systems and if I had to choose it would be the ps3 just because i've never had a problem with the ps3 and I don't have to pay 7 bucks a month so I can get online

I am a 360 fanboy, plain and simply because i strongly dislike Sony. HOWEVER, as most people do not know, as of September 1st, the new PS3's are to be released with prices drastically lower than the current PS3's. I suggest you wait till then and pick one up. 1/3rd of the size, weight, and power consumption of the current PS3, plus a 120GB HDD. How awesome.

I currently own a Xbox 360 and Wii. I don't regret buying the Xbox 360 instead of PS3. But PS3 seems to become more and more interesting, due to the increase in blu-ray movies, price cut and better games. If you don't have a blu-ray player you should probably buy a PS3.

The Xbox 360 controller is superior in ergonomy for most people. But you should definetly test it. For a few people it's just straight out awful.

RROD doesn't really happen in the Xbox's produced after September 2007. And didn't they extend the warranty for RROD in april?

the online-thing isn't that important to me
and the PS3 prices will go down in few months, because of the release of the PS3-Slim edition(which will cost about 300$/€)
and what can i also do with the xbox, except playin games on it? does it got kinda multimedia-features, like the ps3 has?

edit: rishwin, the new ps3-slim edition looks horrible and doesn't support PS2 games(the 80gb version of the ps3 does support)

But if i want to buy a PS3, why exactly would i want to play PS2 games? If i want to play PS2 games, then i'll buy a PS2, not a PS3, and save myself alot of money. Just like the 360. I had many xbox games, but once i got my 360, all of those games just looked shit in comparison. I have a stack of 30+ xbox games untouched since i got my 360, mainly because many of them have 360 counterparts with increased graphics and gameplay.

"But Rish, what if you already have the PS2 games?" Well in that case, you would already have a PS2, wouldn't you? Unless you just like going out and buying games for consoles you don't own. Oh, and so what if it looks like shit? I'd play a PS3 out of a shoebox if it was gonna save me a couple hundred of $.

Xbox 360's are multimedia devices, they connect to your PC and can be used as media centers to stream media from the PC straight to your TV. You can also plug USB devices into it and play media from the xbox directly. BTW, the 360 does not have features like the PS3, the PS3 has features like the 360. Remember which was released first. Also if you like playing console games but hate using keyboard + mice, the USB controllers for 360's can be used on PC's also.

Oh, and no, the PS3 will NOT go down in price just because the new one is out. The new one is out BECAUSE they don't want to reduce the price. They CANNOT reduce the price, they are already LOSING money on every PS3 console sold. The new console was the only way they could start making money from it. the components in the old console cost WAY too much to produce.

I have tested it. It doesn't feel right in my hands. I don't like the configuration of the controller, which is why I'm more adept to choosing PS3 as my preference. I'm not saying other people might not find it easier, its just with me, i find it difficult.

Both systems have pros and cons but ill recommend that you look into technical and warranty issues. Also look at what games they offer cause one system might have more of what your into. Also when buying and i will say this with the upmost recommendation find a store that offers a extended warranty(Walmart here does) for whatever system u decide to buy. though i would add something for everyone take a look http://consumerist.com/5338852/xbox-360-failure-rate-is-542-percent-game-informer-finds
