[PS3] RZ Tourney; CoD4/Other Games

Alright, I saw another thread a while back for 360 tournaments, and decided, why not start a PS3 one. Point in this is just to have fun, chat with other RaGEZONE Members, and enjoy your game. No prizes or anything. Just to see who thinks they can bring home the crown to RZ as the (GAME HERE) Champ.
This was intended to be only for CoD4 (Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare) players, seeing as it is PS3's best selling game, as of now, and the majority (but not all) of PS3 owners have the game. So maybe, we can just call this a Call of Duty 4 Tournament for now, and maybe later, if this all goes through, the competition will expand to more games on the PS3.
So, I figured, of how ever many people decide they do want to join this tournament, there would be a bracket (as used in sports, etc) to determine who faces who & when. As for what game types would be played, if we did a 1v1 tournament, we would just do free-for-all (maybe best of 3). We could also do doubles matches (A&B) vs (C&D) and if (A&B) won they would advance to next round. Basically this is still up in the air right now, as of what is going to happen with it, but I would love to get one of these going.
It would be best (and smart) for if you do decide to join this, to post when you will be most likely available to play, post your PSN (PlayStation Name) and any other valuable information we may need (how to contact, timezone, etc).

Going by the PlayStation Names thread you posted, it looks like the majority of the people do own CoD4.

All these problems and more could be solved by RZ having tournaments on all platforms for a variety of games. Organized by a sensible user. Just a suggestion, would love to see it.

First thing you have to work out is the time. Time plays a major factor in any tournament. You have to find a suitable time for both players from Europe and States. The only way this tournament will work out is if you do it during weekends. In order to have a successful tournament you need to plan at least a month before. Participants should know when the tournament is taking place so personal things don't interfere.

Luckily, you have all of the things I mentioned above sorted out.

Personally, I would suggest you to do a simple gaming session rather than a tournament. Tournament never works out, not in a small scale.

I would love to help you out but sadly I don't own a PS3.

IAA console game of the year.
IAA online multiplayer game of the year.

Need to say more? IAA = Grammy of the Game Industry.

CoD4 is very worth it. One of the most well made game that I've every played.

As for doing RZ game secessions, they are always fun and I wouldn't mind doing a RFoM, AC4, or WH one.

Though in all honesty it's much better on the x360. Why? Better match making system and everyone has voice chat. (well not everyone but 99% of people unlike the PS3)

I think someone of the RZ staff should set one up. Get it well organized. And I guarantee that if a staff member were to post one, more people would join, just because that's how people are. :bad:

Like NoPeace pointed out, your best bet would be to do this on a 360. Majority of RZ'er have a 360, so you'll have a large amount of people showing up for the sessions.

Wow, thats exactly how we say it here...

But yeah, i think a 360 Tourney would kick ass, considering the amount of people that own one, i guess it would be nice for the PS3 owners to have one of their own...but if it can't be done..well it can't.
