[Q] - Change sets sql updates. What it do?

There's an FAQ about it.....
- Q: What are the Change Sets and what are they used for?
- A: The list of changes NCDB uses in their revisions. Instead of deleting your previous Rev to update to a new one, you just run the change set.

harsh dude...some people may not actual be that clued up on how things work..how about cutting them some slack ?

constructive replies I find generally work better :)

Most people learn from trial and error, some learn from leeching, some learn from asking questions!

It doesn't matter, give help and don't flame.

here's one question i'd like to raise:

there are lots and lots of Change Sets ranging from Change Set (69x).sql to Change Set (god only knows).sql. Given this, do we update our database by running all change sets that have been released or should i skip to the latest change set?

i know it seems obvious but i just want to be sure. i dont like setting up my server again because i screwed up the updates. please help... thanks

SQL updates are supposed to help how Ascent interacts with your database. On my Choosing the Right Programs for your server guide, I think I have something on there that says NCDB 830 = Ascent 2915 idk what it is exactly though.

After the initial world databse setup, running change set is all you need to keep up with the updates. Of course you can re-populate the database by running the tool.bat file, but it will remove all the custom items you have.
