[Question/Poll] Ran Server and PC Specs

Please share your experiences/comments on the following:

1. What is the IDEAL PC specs for running an EP3 Ran Server?
2. What is the MINIMUM PC specs for running an EP3 Ran Server?
3. What are your current PC specs, how does it perform in terms of lag, total number of players, etc.
4. Do you use a separate PC to run a Ran CP/webserver?
5. What is your ISP and your ISP Speed?

Sorry for starting a new thread but my previous thread on CPU Usage was closed. although it settled the issue of using the Process Tamer app. We weren't able to discuss or compare server specs and performance. I hope you'll understand.

Minimum Server Spec is 512MB of RAM 80Gig Hardisk Space, But it will cause lag if you host it online its better for LAN only..

My LAN server specs are as follows:
AMD Duron 700
384MB ram with 64MB video memory
30GB HDD

Seems to be working fine. I've been able to connect several clients to it with no lag issues. But I still need to do further testing

to make a server using 9 fields, (the pure max), knowing that a field server can take +/- 100 players each, you need 27 Ghz, a field server doesn't take more than a full core to run on, so if you got too low cpu per core, it will be useless to have many cores
I recommend to have 3 - 3.4 Ghz per core rather than many weak cores together
a server cannot have more than 9 fields because the agent server only detects 9, so it would give a capacity of 800 - 1000 players per server

its almost impossible to have a home pc (I mean as single pc) who can handle so much, so if you're planning to get big, rent a server pc with 2 - 3 chips with Quad core each
or get many pcs together

as for ram it needs 1 Gb just to start an empty server
and 2 Gb ram can handle like 500 - 600 players
so 3 Gb ram for a maximized server

ALL the specs is Good but in my case I use only;

AMD ATHLON 2800 processor
1GIG Memory (KINGSTON, NCP)
80 Gig HD Seagate (Standard HD)
256 V-Card (FX5500)
ECS M-Board

With these Specs can serve up to 35 players only LAN with LAGG Issue, with party I dont know why, when my players try to make 2 to 3 groups of party my server got LAGG problem.

BTW, Im hosting a ran server again with minimum req.

128 V-Card

all above are every expensive but except sire livewireCebu and Tsong heavenzel .. we are came in minimal specs of desktop servers.. no matter how good your specs but the net basic speed poor. thats not good.

Wow 500 players?? mine have 20 but oh my lagness always occurs. There must be some kind of tweaks you got there knowing your using only a desktop pc?? Care to share?:music_band:
