[QUESTION] What External Hard drive?

Im just wondering what is a decent External hard drive to buy?

I dont want one to big but to small and i have no idea what i should get. My computer is a 160Gg hard drive and its half full but i still want to get a external hard drive so i can talk stuff for my laptop to desktop.

What should i get?

360g.

I use 1Terabyte but that's because im using 7 Computers

Well. My dad has a Lacie 500GB HDD. They're great, but only thing i find annoying is the fact it has a switch and you gotta turn it on and off when you wanna use it. I myself have a Element 500GB external, which has a WD drive in it. I reckon mines great, as there's no switch, it automatically turns on and off when it is needed. That's just me though, i tend to be really lazy, and a switch involves effort in my books.

Im only running one at the moment but im going to buy myself a laptop soon. I think im going to by a 360Gb that will do for me. If i need to i will buy another one. Thanx for your opinions

It will last, like.. Forever.

For me, 1TB would be best,
Because i download so many films/music video's onto my laptop,
But have to delete them because my laptop only has an 80 HD.

Yes but i sort of need the external hard drive today or very soon and i dont have a job at the moment and im a bit sort on cash so i think i might just get a 360Gb for like $100

I would recommend buying a 320 or 500 GB seagate hard drive then buy a cheap external HDD case. It should cost less than buying an external, and at least you know the drives are good.

I don't know if you have Aldi where you're located. But i got my 1T for only $250 Australian Dollars.

No not really.

I am in Australia too and i can buy a 750GB HDD for $105 and a hard drive case for $30

so for an extra $20 i get 1.5tb in total

So you are short on cash yet you can waste money on an Alienware PC? And yes, i mean "waste" cos you are paying (and i am not exaggerating in the slightest way) an extra $1,000 just for the brand name.
