No crashes at all.

i try cabal over:

centos 4.5 - win srv 2003 - mssql 2000> ok
centos 4.6 - win srv 2003 -mssql 2005 > ok
fedora 7 - win srv 2003 - mssql 2000 -> ok
fedora 8 - win srv 2003 - mssql 2000 -> ok
Ubuntu - win srv 2003 - mssql 2000 -> ok

it works on any modern os.

just make sure you know your way around setting up the files.

which is more of a major issue than the os type itself.
