most of the links are dead... :/



Does anyone have any versions 1.6.3 - 1.7.3 PWI english that they can share...?

Well look there, I don't know what you need.There even if you do not have the right version of the client, a huge number of official manual updates, you can manually build a client, the right version ))))

Are there any working links to some of these files still? All these, and on other sites too, seem dead. Specifically looking for the 1.5.6 PWI client... or even just the tasks.data file would be fine. Many thanks.

as there are different tasks.data versions per each client version, which tasks.data version are you looking for...?

Well I believe 1.5.6 is tasks.data v140 but yeah I know there will be minor revisions after this. As long as its any version that includes up to questID 38825 that's fine. The 1.5.5 I'm running goes up to questID 36000 so this was added pretty soon after. I'm trying to extract data from it, not run the actual client.

Currently can read v128 .. v139, working my way up implementing being able to read each version. Current PWI is at v189 but if I can find an earlier tasks.data that still has the quests I want in it it would save me having to slog through adding support for 49 versions xD

I do not understand... Are you extracting data or adding support to an editor...?

Why not just use rey35's editor...? He shared the source as well...

The problems with all these editors that only edit one type of file (elements.data editor, tasks.data editor, PCK compressor) is one thing in game (say a piece of fashion) needs entries in many different files. Also just editing binary files you've got no clue what you changed from one version to the next. So I'm trying to build tools that store all the data in XML, and (if its something I'm working on editing) break it out from the main files so I have one folder with all the necessary data/images/3d models for one thing. That's working great now for hairs and fashion. I can export fashion from the files of the current PWI and backport them to my 1.5.5 server.

Trying to expand this to work on quests too. So I either need to be able to read the v189 tasks.data of current PWI, but occurred to me that I don't really need anything that new... an older version would be easier to read, if it still has the quests I want in it.

Using that as a reference to help figure the file formats out (change 1 value in the editor, save it, fc the two files). I didn't know the source was available...

Ahh that is newer that the version I had (2.158) and I didn't have the source either so that's really helpful, thanks. It even loads the tasks.data from current PWI o.o

Update: I went through his source code for reading tasks.data and compared against mine, which was pretty easy because they were both structured very similiarly and I had everything up to about v146 already correct. Now my code reads up to v189 (current PWI) as well just after working on it for 1 night. This would've taken me weeks to figure out by hand so having that source code was an awesome help, thanks =)
