Burning Soulworker server files (spring 2023 - full server)

Following the closure of Burning Soulworker's server, the latter, before closing his discord channel and his site, left a farewell message containing a riddle and a download archive with a password :

Farewell@everyone

As the final closure of BurningSW finally after 5years of service, I have been reflecting on what to say as a finalgoodbye. I considered writing something long and emotional orsomething short and professional, but ultimately, I believe the bestway to say goodbye is to express my gratitude to ourcommunity.

Without you, BurningSW would not have been my job(on and off) for over 5 years. It has been a dream job, that hasenabled many people to have fun, find new friends, and even partners.I am truly grateful for everything that has happened here. And toevery single one of you.

It is unfortunate that we had toclose twice due to external issues, and this last time it did notwork out (which is understandable, as people have lost their trust).
But we can say that we tried our best, always kept users' databetween breaks, and strived to offer a good gaming experience toeveryone. We put in our time, effort, and funds to make thiswork.

This journey has been one of growth for me and for manyothers who have interacted with the project in some way oranother.

So, thank you for everything.
Burning 🔥

PS.I know some of you are expecting my final gift. Here it is:

(thepassword is something related to this server & community, goodluck! :burningpat: )

Then he left a further clue (edit/ unlike the main clue left by Burning himself in his farewell message, these additional clues are said by some to be subjective, as they derive from a transmission from members of Burning's discord before it closed, and from a collection of things Burning is said to have said, so take a step back) :

There's capitalletters

A space

and the passwordis a reference to 1x

The pass hasnothing to do with patch code names.

And forget bruteforce but use dictionnary

All this follows a promise he made when he announced the server reboot at the end of last year. Here is an archive of his message for your information :

@everyone @SoulWorker
It's been a long time, old soulworker.
Today we arecoming clean and making a transparency statement regarding the futureof BurningSW and what happened last year.
As you might havenoticed, there have been some rumors of our server opening back up,which are true! We are coming back in 2022, with BurningSW3.0.

First of all, let's address the elephant in the room.Last year. We had to close due to team burnout, issues with ourinfrastructure, and hopes to revamp the whole project. We spent thesecond half of 2021 working on something that ended up not working, leaving team morale down.
We sincerely apologize for negativelyimpacting the user experience and shattering trust in our project. The past year has been a dark one for us.

After almost a wholeyear, we are ready to bring the project back to life. We solved ourinternal issues and finally feel stable enough to take the projectback to where it was before.

At the same time, we need to beaccountable. That's why we want to make a statement.
This is thefinal time we publish BurningSW. In the event that the project failsagain, we will release everything required to run your own BSW server(without any user data, though).

We are committed to keepingup a fast pace with the content released on the original Japaneseservers, keeping everyone's data from our last release. As well ascontinuing to provide our community-driven custom content patches.

BurningSW is going to be released under the codename "3.0- Phoenix" (which might change before release), providing allthe released content to this date.
Image
The planned releasedate is within 2022, more information soon to come.

Our teamhas undergone some changes. First, @Chloe has left the team forgood. She had been with us since the very first day; it's sad to seeher go, but we wish her well on her adventures. @Era is still goingto be around. But we are announcing the introduction of a newdeveloper: Pyro (still doesn't have a Discord account).
He isgoing to make sure all the community's needs are met on a weeklybasis; it's someone I have known for many years and who will help mekeep Burning SW alive and up to the high standards we all expect.

Weare well aware that it's been almost 2 years since we had our lastcontent patch, "2.1 - Solar Flare", and the game has gonethrough massive changes. Two new soulworkers have been added, as wellas two new raids and many new features.
From now on, we areopening feedback to gather feedback and suggestions on the currentstatus of the game, as well as which of our custom contents should beremoved or revamped. So please, check it out.

Last, we aregoing to need some beta testers before our official release. Thewhole @Moderator Team is going to help, but we're going to look tothe community for further help. We're going to post an announcementaddressing this later this week.

Thank you for bearingwith us, and until soon.

Well, there's no doubt that that download link above contains 'everything you need' to run the Burning server with its latest update and all the content that goes with it.

So it's a full server, with all 10 characters, a very advanced season 2, something exceptional and much more complete than the old Japanese leak from 2021

https://forum.ragezone.com/threads/tutorial-soul-worker-server-client-setup-guide.1195665/

The problem is that you have to find the password by solving Burning's riddle !

I know a lot of people are looking for it, but nobody's found it yet.

So it would be great if we could work together for the benefit of the whole Soulworker community.

The password could be a combination of words, a phrase, something specific to the server and the Burning community.

Any hints, tips, ideas or techniques on how to discover this password would be most welcome.

I'd also like to point out that Burning had a site which he unfortunately deleted along with his discord, so if anyone has an archive of his site (or can find a trace of it on the web, for example on Wayback machine/Internet archive) it would be a great help as there could be important information in there to find the key to his password.

A good day to you all.

Why all posts on this thread are gone? well, I'm gonna write it again... I was thinking that maybe the pass has something related with xp ratios, upgrade ratios, or something related to that, I came to that conclusion because of the clues given and the screenshot that was here before (someone standing beside a HEMS machine), I didn't played Burning Soulworker, so IDK the ratios, but maybe someone knows that info and wants to give it a try, we have nothing to lose. (SHARING IS CARING)

Thank you for your feedback.

Unfortunately, I recently received a notification informing me of the following :

delete thread - [Release] Burning Soulworker server files (leaked on spring 2023 - full server - NOT 2023 files) - RaGEZONE Forums

I am not the cause of this unfair deletion and I have not received any private message explaining in more detail the exact cause of the deletion of this thread, which was simply an exchange and sharing of ideas between members of this forum with a view to making progress in solving the puzzle (I think this is a bad move by Lion Games, who must have tried to put pressure on the forum to censor the freedom of expression of people who were trying to find a simple password for a file that we don't even know what it contains at the moment).

I therefore hope that this topic can remain online from now on.

However, as a precaution, I would ask you to archive any useful information, as the censorship that may have taken place could happen again.

Good luck to you all in your research.

Here is the latest version of the Burning client (updated final version dated June 2023, just before closing) :

As a reminder, Burning's main clue stated :

the password is something related to this server & community, goodluck!

Come to think of it :

What is related to the server and the community ? The client.

And what's the only thing that the community has been able to preserve following the disappearance of the server, the Burning site and everything else ? The client !

It is therefore highly advisable to dismantle the client completely, as the password could potentially be there, or a clue leading directly to it.

Open all the data and scan it (in particular data 12, use "sw admin" to read it), note each term and combine it all for dictionary attacks, also analyse each image contained in folders, sub-folders etc.

Data02 password = edc#cvxzEdsa?SS1234
Data12 password = fvf?GgD832d?1DSFes

(special thanks to the people who uploaded the client and cracked the data passwords)

Thank you for your feedback.

The deletion notice said "CLEAN". I will remove this post eventually just to not clutter content.

PS: Linking to DISCORD = bad.

Thank you, I read your PM of this morning 09 August and replied shortly afterwards.

However, the message I wrote in the public topic and which you quoted in the introduction to your contribution was dated yesterday 8 August, so I hadn't received anything privately in the meantime, as I didn't know the exact causes of the problem at the time (clarification to avoid any confusion about the chronology of events).

I've noted the two messages that caused the problem in this topic and that are marked as "deleted" in your screenshot.

Don't worry, we'll be careful from now on.

However, I'd like to repeat my private request from yesterday morning:

Is it possible to restore the other posts that have nothing to do with all this (they were 3 topic pages with various useful information, so it would be beneficial for everyone), or is it impossible?

If not, we'll rebuild the topic.

Have a good evening.

Hi, I have two questions. Did you finally figure out what the password for the files was? And second, could you make a step-by-step video tutorial on how to make a server with these files? something similar to how they did with rusty hearts?

Open all the data and scan it (in particular data 12, use "sw admin" to read it), note each term and combine it all for dictionary attacks, also analyse each image contained in folders, sub-folders etc.
I have done exactly that many times. I created my own dictionaries in many different permutations this way and i have even used permutations in hashcat. I have scraped specific Discord server's messages (servers that seem to have archived a lot of BSW's update messages and other things) and made them into dictionaries as well. I used a 155gb wordlist from weakpass in addition to all of this. Using vast.ai i rented a Ubuntu machine running on an AMD EPYC7282 and an RTX4090. I ran hashcat in different modes multiples times for days on end. And what did i find? Nothing.
I have even researched about weak points of the encryption used in older versions of 7z. Wonder why we cant even list the .7z contents? Because he ticked "Encrypt filenames" when zipping the files.

I dont want to ruin the fun but these files are next to useless for any dev. I am 100% certain that the password is in no way related to this community. Its is a mere randomly generated sequence of numbers symbols and letters. For example: "auh24Dnf*w$zT2$". There is no way to crack such a thing by brute force. Dictionaries are useless for this kind of password. Even a 120x4090 rig would leave you hanging for millions of years.

Thank god...
Finally someone smart came in with straight facts.
Saw this thread from time to time and it was fascinating in the beginning until it got... silly.
A bit beyond silly.
It's fun that it gave life to this whole.. am... detectives club, attracted people and all, but it was clear as day that people got massively trolled.
Wasn't expecting how gullible (no offense) can someone be, knowing that it's super easy to fabricate things.

Maybe the password was there, maybe it was deleted, maybe some other thing, but until it gets released in the a real sense, these speculations might cause too much harm and possibly scam.

So a word of warning for everyone thinking of doing some funny business and good luck on continuing this.. password guessing (?), if you'll have any more motivation after what cube cat posted.

Thank you very much for this message cubecat.

The most plausible theory, and what I'm about to say will upset some people, (although it's already shared by more and more people privately, including many of Burning's exes with whom we've made contact) is that Burning himself made fun of his community one last time before leaving (incidentally, he left with the money of all the unfortunate people who cash-shopped in his shop, even though the game had already stopped several times in the past...).

Isn't it also strange, and this is a point I wanted to raise if a message like cube cat's reached us, that he (Burning) promised to share his server files with his community if the game stopped a third time, and that as a 'gift', instead, he hasn't shared anything usable except an archive with a Herculean password, which then opens the door to crooks claiming to have found it privately and being able to take advantage of naive, impatient or desperate people as time goes by. (These crooks could very well be Burning and those close to him).

I'd also like to reiterate the warnings that were posted several times before the first version of the topic was deleted (3 pages): don't give money to someone who claims to have "access" to something, even if they show you so-called "proof".

It's very easy to falsify images or videos, or even to pretend that an archive is open.

I can do it in 5 minutes flat.

This applies to Burning as much as anything else.

Another telling example: a scammer called "Oswald" on the Soulworker research discord (I can't give a link because it's against forum rules, but a lot of people here already know what I'm talking about) claimed to have found the password via an Amazon AWS cluster, showing in-game screenshots that were supposed to be convincing.

In the meantime we politely invited him here, but he never showed up.

Then he later claimed to have cracked it by spending a 5-figure sum (over $10,000 !).

In the end, it turns out that this gentleman lied and doesn't have the password, as his latest speeches full of contradictions have unmasked him.

This is a good example of how people should be warned.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

[Post script, published on August 14, 2023] :

The real false start of the Burning impostor, according to a warning posted on the Burning Soulworker facebook group [unofficial group], everyone can make up their own minds about this, but I think it's worth sharing so that everyone knows what's coming.

BEWARE SCAM ! New private Burning server under a false name !!!

It's amazing the way things are going with this Burning password thing, haven't you noticed ?

The password hasn't been found by anyone because it simply can't be found, but someone called Oswald has recently appeared and claimed to have found it despite everything, without providing ANY TRUE EVIDENCE other than screenshots of the game which have only increased the suspicion of the most knowledgeable members.

So he acted, without giving the community any pledge of his good faith, never or hardly ever responding to the community's requests to shed light on this mystery.

Acting as a true egoist, he shared nothing at all with the community.

But what's even more astonishing is the timing between Burning and Oswald in the chronology of facts.

I'd like to draw your attention to this, because it's confusing.

Let's review the chronology of events :
Burning deletes everything and then "disappears" from circulation, and, to make it look like he's keeping his promise to share the files on his server with his community (as he promised here
), he pretends to leave an archive containing them, an archive that he encrypts so that no-one can see what it might contain, but above all that he blocks with a password that no-one will ever be able to find, for reasons very well explained by a member named Cube cat in the meantime in a key message in the same topic of this forum.

The password-locked archive is in itself a scam, as this other member also demonstrated just after https://forum.ragezone.com/.../release-burning.../....
In short, pay attention to the following: shortly after Burning's sudden 'disappearance' and the deletion of everything about him (his discord, his site, his server, his team), a certain Oswald suddenly 'appears' out of nowhere on the Soulworker search discord (dedicated to private servers), claiming to be looking for the password and then to have found it a few days later using an amazon AWS cluster, we then learn from his own words that he had paid a huge five-figure sum (i.e. between 10,000 dollars minimum and 100,000 dollars maximum! ) to find it (which, of course, nobody is going to do, because a blocked Soulworker server with no source code to update it is absolutely not worth such an investment), and that he has an active team working with him...

What's even more intriguing is that this same Oswald has Burning's server files in his possession, despite the fact that no-one can find the password.

Secondly, we recently learned that B... sorry, Oswald, intends to reopen a new private server in the near future, following the shutdown of version 3.0 of Burning, which he left with the cash from the cash shop of the influential people who had been tricked once again by his latest comeback at the end of 2022/beginning of 2023.
Just as Burning did a few months ago before reopening its 3.0 server , Oswald is opening a study channel to the community to "gather feedback" before opening its server...

Just like Burning, he has an extremely high-performance team already working with him to support him.

In short, Oswald behaves in the same way as Burning, has the same server as Burning, has the same kind of team as Burning, is as dishonest as Burning, and of course has found Burning's password that no-one else can. (and no-one will ever find it, and for good reason!!!)

And he's counting on everyone's blindness not to see the veiled links between all this.

Are you starting to get the scam of who Oswald really is or isn't ????
Not only has Burning broken his promise to share his server's files with his community and made a mockery of them, but he's also planning to reopen a fourth version of his server in the near future, pretending to be Oswald, the guy who paid an impossible sum of money to find out the password - his own password, which he must have known because he wrote it!

And the biggest scam of all is that, under the name of Oswald, Burning is going to make you restart from scratch this time on his future server, since, as Burning said at the time when he promised to share server files if he stopped, "no user data will be shared" https://forum.ragezone.com/.../release-burning.../....

He couldn't do it under Burning3.0 because he had no reason to delete players' saves without alienating the entire community.

But by pretending to be Oswald, the problem is solved!!!!

So the new Burning/Oswald scam is well thought out.

It's the work of a professional con artist.

Don't be fooled !

Hello,

At the risk of sounding like a rookie🙂, I'd still like to add my two cents.

I sincerely believe that there are still a lot of grey areas in this case, and if you're missing a single precise term in your dictionary searches, you still can't find the password !

I mean, have you managed to find a data 12 of BSW 1.0 first ???

This is one of the research bases that needs to be integrated.

Because the client data I see here is for version 3.0.

But the index mentions a reference to version 1.0.

And take it apart to see the terms and emails it contains.

Also, my second point, although I'm a little less convinced, is that if clue number 1 mentions "related to the server and the community", it could very well be a guild name or something like that, or even a pseudonym, or a particular term known to some people.

Perhaps a powerful bruteforce cracker would be possible here ?

After that, I admit that the stories about Oswald reek of scams💀, and I agree with what's being said here and there.🤔

I'm just trying to help, so please don't be too hard on me🤗

Hello Bluewinter. (y)

No worries, you're welcome and any constructive contribution that seeks to help deserves respect, so thank you for yours.

What you say about client files from version 1.0 of Burning makes a lot of sense and could potentially help, but unfortunately I don't have any to hand and despite the many contacts we've had so far, no one has any either (it's bound to exist somewhere though, so if anyone has any, please don't hesitate to contact us).

As for the stories about guild names and so on, I also talked about this at the time, it remains a theoretical possibility in absolute terms but it's really tiny and unlikely, but thanks for the reminder.

Find people who have played the game and make them work on their memory, before integrating all this into more advanced dictionaries, that's the way to go if you're going to go down that route.

As for bruteforce, that's up to you, but I'll give you a good example that sums up just how time-consuming and unreliable such a process is, in my view.

As I explained in an old post on this subject (rest his soul), classic bruteforce (the so-called blind technique) consists of trying all possible combinations of characters without worrying about any consistency other than chance:
a - b - c - d ...
aa - ab - ac - ad ...
...
1aaA1 - 1aaA2 - 1aaA3 ....

BUT you should be aware that the longer the password, the longer it takes to crack. For example, a password consisting of 6 letters of the alphabet would take a few seconds to crack, while a password consisting of 15 characters including capitals/spaces/special characters would take ......... several million years 😅 Apart from the luck factor, of course (which is very, very, very, very unlikely).

Here's an example from a site (approximate, not necessarily up to date with the latest graphics cards) which will show you just how inefficient this process is, especially if you're doing it on your own (there was a clever idea by a member in the topic to pool resources but it was unfortunately deleted due to lack of support, this is not a censorship of the forum).

You will tell me that there is Oswald, who claims (without providing the slightest proof) to have this password after cracking it using a classic Bruteforce with the help of Amazon AWS clusters, spending between 10,000 and 100,000 dollars.

In my previous post, I quoted an extremely revealing warning of the whole sham surrounding this man called Oswald, from Burning's suspicious disappearance to his appearance and subsequent actions, which are even more so (see this link for more information).

To give you a further clue to this ongoing deception, of which you should be extremely wary, a third party with whom we have links commented on the Burning group's warning. However, her message (which was in no way insulting) has been discreetly deleted from the public part of the group in the meantime.

To be on the safe side, she took a screenshot: here's the one she sent us. (Feel free to archive everything, and if you have any useful information to share with us privately, we'll be happy to relay it if necessary in the topic, as long as it doesn't contravene the forum rules, of course).

As they say, if you've got nothing to hide, you've got nothing to censor, so there's scam.

Here's the data containing the RES files for version 1 of Burning we've been talking about.

It was shared on the Soulworker discord yesterday morning by someone.

Thank you very much for sending us this very interesting information, especially as we're very close to the end of v1 Burning on these RES files and it's therefore difficult to be more complete: I'm going to do some thorough research.

Incidentally, here's something that was also found very recently and is very interesting: the 'SW/chat' from the Burning discord that someone sucked up shortly before it was deleted:

It's the sort of thing that seemed lost forever, and there's bound to be some information in there that could be very useful if you look hard enough (if there's a reference to v1 in clue, I wonder if there's a vacuumed v1 discord somewhere?).

I'd also like to say that I've amended my introductory post, as the original link posted by Burning for the server files has become invalid (Anonfiles closed due to abuse, according to some ), so here's a new link that's valid for now:

(if it's deleted, please let us know)

At last we have further revealing feedback on the 'Oswald scam' that many people are warning against here and elsewhere.

Fortunately, the warnings seem to have borne fruit, as his manipulations don't work and his phishing discord is an complete failure.

To hush up the affair, he censors disturbing messages denouncing him, and even when these are completely respectful and courteous, they disappear as if by magic, the latest striking examples coming from his own site, judge for yourself :

Message Allégorie-Oswald 01 original - [Release] Burning Soulworker server files (leaked on spring 2023 - full server - NOT 2023 files) - RaGEZONE Forums

Message Allégorie-Oswald 02 original - [Release] Burning Soulworker server files (leaked on spring 2023 - full server - NOT 2023 files) - RaGEZONE Forums

The whole Oswald scam dismantled in 2 simple messages.

These messages have been 'cleaned up' by Oswald, who is clearly very annoyed by the facts brought to light... and this is tantamount to a ban for anyone who dares to tell the truth ha ha!

You're free to form your own opinion, but you can imagine what such an individual (who clearly has the utmost contempt for people) will do with the backups of players who let themselves be trapped on his future server.

Don't let yourself be trapped by the first seducer who comes along and claims to have something to offer you, especially when he refuses outright to share anything with anyone.

Yes, several important movements in this direction seem to be taking place, which I think is a very good sign.

One of the most promising of these, I think, is the one I read about recently on the discord dedicated to game research, the "SoulworkerDevelopment" discord (sorry, I can't post the link here, as it's against the forum rules, but I invite people to go there for more info, and don't hesitate to contact me by PM if you need to).

It's a project that's going to consist of a large-scale collective bruteforce that's about to get underway.

A bit like the idea @MrAlicard was trying out here, but much more ambitious and with more resources.

Although I myself wasn't very convinced by this option at first, the latest elements discovered seem to give us hope of solving the problem using this simple process, if a few people get involved nonetheless.

So anyone who wants to take part is welcome to do so.

To sum up what I'm talking about (for those who don't know), a member recently made some calculations on this discord to measure the approximate time needed to solve the password problem, based on an invoice from the much-criticised member Oswald, who was obviously pushed into a corner by the Burning group's message denouncing him as a notorious impostor.

To justify himself, he sent some screenshots, which were then used to calculate the estimated time needed to solve the problem.

The result is as follows :

Amaterasu messag - [Release] Burning Soulworker server files (leaked on spring 2023 - full server - NOT 2023 files) - RaGEZONE Forums

With the same logic :

If around 100 people could take part, it would only take a few days to crack the password.

Spread the word, the project is about to start, now is the time.

To be continued.

These guys are making a fool out of me.
Refrain from burning server files I know a server file dedicated to Japanese clients.
Burning server file will never run Korean clients
The Korean client structure is the opposite of the Japanese client.
Oswald is 100% sure that Korean clients will never be available.
It's not running on the vilpredator client, it's on a separate vilpredator server. LG has a separate server.
I can't believe you added Vile Predator content.
