Hi guys, here is my next release/tutorial.
Finally I found a way to host the server, even if you have a router. It is working, I tested, with 1 GS. So if you want to share your server for friends, and you dont want to use hamachi or other VPN clients, use my solution
Tested:
-1 GameServer
-Windows 7 64 and 32 bit.
What you need for it:
-A router which has Wi-Fi
-A Wi-Fi adapter(or if you have a laptop it is built in)
Lets get started:
Find you external IP address. You can do it here:
After it, configure the cert:
srNodeType.ini
Also edit the server.cfg with you External IP.
Connect to your network with Wi-Fi.(don't unplug your ethernet cable, just connect via Wi-Fi.
Set your External IP to Wireless card's IPv4 .
Now you can start your server, without any problems.
After you finished(all servers running, and started at SMC) disconnect from Wi-Fi, and let it connect via cable.
So, we started the server, and it is running on your external IP address, and you have an IPv4 address, because the Ethernet card got it when you disconnected from Wi-Fi.
Open these ports:
15779, 15880, 15881, 15882, 15883, 15884, 15885, 25880, 32000
(dunno what should open 15779 is not enough, but if you open these you wont get C9)
Or you can use DMZ.
After it, if you want to make it secure, just follow Jangan's guide about it.(Win7 also has firewall with advanced security)
How to forward ports:
Start -> cmd , type ipconfig, copy your default gateway to browser, log in to router settings, find something like port forwarding or vitrual server. open 15779 port.
Also edit your client with your external IP, and you can try, it will work
I know, it is not the easiest solution, but it works. You have to do it each time when you want to start the server. All in all.
If I helped you, press Like
Have Fun
