Runescape 2007 - No Encryption ?

Hey guys,

Is it me or doesnt it have any encryption enabled.
For funs i did a packet scan and i can see names + npc messages clear text.
Whats up with this :/.

Might be wrong.. but i think i remember just client data being encrypted and server data not ?

You just wireshark'ing this?

If that's the case, then I'm pretty sure it'd be pretty easy to just dump all this from the client itself, since we we can just request the data from the servers

Hey,

Well i use smartsniff but its about the same,
But i saw the text of npc's etc clearly. but could it be that just the client side is encrypted ?
Havent really checked to deep into it played more then anything else .

Well these clients are on the old engine, and don't have actual encryption. If I saw correctly, you should be able to dump everything from the cache just like a normal 317. After all, RS2007 seems to be a hybrid 430's client. I do know for sure that this is a mid 2007 client, around june-july
