Alright well I have done what many would suggest and tried connecting with 12.7.0.0.1 and I also PMed DarkKnight about this and he said to try going to sonnb.com for a fix. Problem is -- they've been down for weeks now and have no signs of that site coming back up again.

Which means I have a problem with waiting on them. Alright, so here's the problem.... I needed to hex my client to 127.0.0.1 instead of my external IP address because for whatever reason, I am unable to connect to my external IP. I have forwarded ports 10007 and 10009 already. I'm not sure why but if I set the ip in the hotuk.ini to anything but 127.0.0.1 the client goes apeshit and decides it doesnt want to connect to my server after I type in my login info and hit the server name. The client will then "pause" or "freeze" for about 15-20 seconds then go right back to the login screen.

I've tried numerous thngs like trying to set the server IP to external and setting my client IP to my router IP, my lan IP, external IP, ect. Everything you can think of. Would not connect. Now here's the funny thing. If I set the server IP to my router IP it would connect to the login server, but crash upon connect.

So obviously, if it's anything inside the router it wants to work. If I try to connect to my external IP from inside the router, I get stone walled when trying to connect. So basically, my setup right now is server at external IP, with mine being 127.0.0.1 and locked out of my own server.

My router is Linksys WRT54G. Any suggestions are appreciated.

if you cannot connect with the servers IP as 127.0.0.1 and your client as 127.0.0.1 then you have set something up wrong, now this could be server or client side.

i find it best to do a process of elimination. look through the FAQ's on this forum and knock out each one till u find something wrong.

No, I can connect with both set to 127.0.0.1. I don't need to check faqs, I know what im doing. My router is not letting me connect to my server when I set the server IP to external aka WAN.

well of course its not...ur not supposed to connect with ur WAN ip...thats for others to use.

if its on the same pc...it has to be 127.0.0.1
