Hello, do you think AMD PHENOM II X4 940 is a good cpu for server pc that will have 8 gb ram too? Cause i am thinking of making a server comp, and after trying hard to find a good xeon m/b and a good xeon i saw this cpu + a good m/b that go way cheaper than a xeon + a good m/b. As i saw AMD PHENOM II X4 940 has better specs as a cpu than a w/e xeon.

Please tell me your opinion, about which to choose

I would stick with the Xeon.
If you're building a server computer you want a server CPU, It's designed to run many applications and keep things working smoothly, It may be a bit expensive but if you're building a server don't skimp on the parts.

I agree. Xeon is the single handed greatest processor for server applications. The phenom II will run good, but the Xeon's architecture is designed specifically for high stress applications; I'm sure the xeon runs a lot smoother while running 20-30 programs, than a phenom desktop processor can
