This is probably old news, but c'mon...
The 27-year-old man was questioned over a series of attacks on sheep at a farm in Chislehurst, Bromley.
Officers arrested the man during a dawn raid at his home in Dulwich, south east London.
A Metropolitan Police spokesman said the man was also arrested on suspicion of possession of drugs with intent to supply.
The move follows several complaints made to police about a man molesting sheep on grassland off Botany Bay Lane, Chislehurst, in May and June.
Witnesses reported a man sexually assaulting sheep before running off, often leaving clothing at the scene.
Two joggers became suspicious when the man was spotted pulling up his trousers as he stood near a sheep that was lying on the ground.
A young stable girl who came face to face with the man during a similar incident also contacted detectives.
It is understood that the man was traced after forensic scientists identified DNA recovered from a pair of jogging bottoms found at the scene.
Two sheep were found dead in the field during the period of the attacks but it is not known if their deaths were linked.
Police are also investigating reports that the suspect took photographs of the animals before the attacks.
Penetration of or by an animal is illegal and carries a sentence of up to two years imprisonment.

A 26-year-old man is in police custody accused of having sex with a sheep in Chislehurst.
The man was arrested this morning (July 17) at his home in Dulwich, where police also found a quantity of drugs and cash.
He was also arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply drugs.
Police raided the man's home after his DNA was matched with a pair of grey jogging pants found at Tong's Farm in Botany Bay Lane, following reports of a man having sex with a sheep on June 9.
Two men were out jogging near the farm at around 7.20pm when they saw a black man in a field next to a sheep, which was lying down.
The men reported seeing the man pulling down his black polo-neck jumper and pulling up his black jogging pants.
They reported what they had seen to the local National Trust warden and said they thought the man was having sexual contact with the sheep.
When police arrived they recovered a pair of grey jogging trousers next to the sheep.
In a separate incident on May 16 a stable girl reported seeing a man in a field with the sheep.
Her attention was drawn to the man because all the sheep were running away from him.
When she challenged him he said he was looking for his wallet.
Police would like to hear from any farmers in the area who have had similar problems.
