I have been working on a new Jade Dynasty data editor called JD IDE.

The project started as an elements.data editor, but it has gradually grown into a workspace for several client data files.
My goal is to make editing easier to understand while keeping the original binary structure safe.

At the moment, the editor supports elements.data versions from v66 to v176.

Some of the current elements.data features are:

  • Browsing and editing lists and records
  • Search across records and fields
  • Schema editor with structs, groups, arrays, enums, masks and references
  • Record cloning and deletion with undo/redo
  • Compare two elements.data files and copy compatible changes
  • JSON import and export
  • Translation from another supported elements.data by list and ID
  • NPC dialogue translation
  • Item icons, images, paths, skills, buffs and titles loaded from the client packages
  • Problem scanner for broken references, duplicate IDs and other suspicious values
  • Safe saving with backups, checksum generation and changed-on-disk protection

There is also a separate path.data editor with search, pagination, editing, JSON import/export and safe saving.

The newest part of the project is the tasks.data editor. Supported versions currently include v165, v172 and v184.

It can browse complete quest trees, show subquests directly in the task list, edit safe values, follow task and element references, and rebuild modified task packs with updated offsets and MD5 checksums.

One of the hardest problems with tasks.data is supporting unknown versions. For this, I have started building a task layout analyzer. It can compare a newer task set with an older supported version, report where the structure stops matching, suggest possible new fields and test a custom schema against every quest.

A custom layout can only be accepted for editing after every task decodes and re-encodes byte-for-byte.

The project is still under development, especially the structural quest-editing features. I recently added safe cloning of complete subquest trees with fresh task IDs and undo support.

Hopefully I'll finish this xD It should help out when it comes out to making structures for the SC.
Planning to add more editors to the workspace like:
  • gshop
  • vipawards
  • npcgen
  • aipolicy
  • domainland
  • task_npc
  • dyn_tasks
  • dynamicobjects
  • extra_drops
  • and others :D
Any sort of suggestions as features are welcome.

Update: Here is a link to the editor if somebody would like to test.
