Hi all.

After lurked a while this (and others :) ) forums, i'm working at installing a private server with the last full release of mangos.

Strangely  all seems ok, and i can log on my server and create new characters without problem.

Now i have played for a while, and i have some question, maybe a little noob, but even searching the forum i haven't found answers...

1) all the npc are here, but no one is moving. I mean, the guards on the city, the citizens, and all the others that in a wow normal server are moving. Only some peasant and children are, but still not much. All the rest are static. I remember that in Blizzard servers are even some guards thath are patrolling outside city.It is normal, or i have something to do?

2) it is possible to have the guards on city like stormwind give indications on the various place of the city? (maybe this is answered, but can't find an exact solution)

3) All the mob i have encountered don't use magic, even if it's a mob who can (wizard, etc), even elite magic mob. It's normal or i have another error? :)

Don't remember now other prob, thx for now :)

1) If they don't move, then they have no waypoint. Not exactly sure how to set it, because I've never done it...

2) Depending on what repack you are using, the guards should already tell you where certain places are. If not, find a decent repack.

3) This is because they have no AI. There should be some mob AI scripts floating around on the net. Try .

Hmm... not sure about which MangOS repack is the best (I don't usually dabble in MangOS too much...). Just have a look at a couple of different ones, then see what kind of comments people have left.

Well as far as mangos repacks go, you could try these:
MANGOS ~Platinum~
Azzum'sRepackV1.0

They should be easily found:)
I myself just use the latest sdb/core and don't use repacks:p

Thx to all, i have fixed the (2) and (3), installing the last version of manogs and using the SDB without any repack. Imported the old chars, and all it' s ok.

Now it's only the guards and npc movement, i searched around, but found nothing (scripting, ai mob, etc.etc)
.

Any idea? :emoticon:

Well if it was wowemu, I would be able to help you out.
But I don't know how to edit way points, and I would rather not edit them via the db, unless I knew what I was doing.

I had a search of my own, and they does not seem to be a thread on how todo this using Mangos, so maybe it would be a good idea for you to start one.

It's wowemu so different from Mangos? I heard tha wowemu is used primay for online and single player use, but don't know how it works... Wowemu work like an official blizz server, or is more like Mangos without all the editing possibilities?

In the meantime, i have found some query to add patrolling to the Stormwind guard, tonight i'll try and check if it's working or not...

In my experience getting the npc's to patrol was quite buggy at best. Maybe you should go ahead and install the Platinum repack and see if you like the differences or not. Patrolling NPC's definitely wouldn't stop me from playing on a server.

Wowemu is older, and does not do well with the newer clients.
You will find a nice wowemu repack called "afg's"
they supply both blizzlike and funserver.

All of the stuff is custom, and you will be working with scp file, rather than sql.

Which is alot eaiser, yes. But sql and the newer emulators supports alot more new things, and will be better in the long run.
