My Girlfriend's Birthday is coming up 3 days after Christmas and since she needs a new phone i've been looking around and spotted the Sony Ericsson W910i.

From what i've seen it looks like a pretty solid and reliable phone, just wandering if anyone has it so i can get some feedback. I've read that it has been known to have some software problems and restarts sometimes, however only a small percentage of people have experienced this. Also that the camera is not the best, but 2.0mp is a godsend considering her current one only has a VGA camera.

I've had the phone for over a year now, and it's pretty decent. Only thing is it became corrupted for some reason (not due to file transer, in case you were wondering) and had to do a master reset.

The only downers are with the camera really; no flash, and in nightmode the frame rate just renders the mode pointless. It's like watching a crimewatch video.

Pretty cool phone for your girlfriend, I suppose that she is very pleased with a boyfriend like you. :):
For those who don't know how the SE 1910 looks:

Oi, get it her, if you get her that, she'll give you free access to her jewels.

ON: It's nice, I reckon you should get that for sure!

It's fine...the camera is actually really good.
I have it, and if you enable night mode during day time, the quality looks quite decent.
Also, you better unlock it, or she won't be able to put on any custom ring tones...which is retarded as hell
You really gotta play around with it to find out all its features.
But I've had it for a little less than a year now, and it's been treating me decent, even after being chewed up by my German shepherd.
No restarts, no technical problems what so ever.

O.o
Elaborate :P

It's prepaid btw, that way she gets unlimited calls to me and all other prepaid phones on the same network. I hate phones on plans.

You can't customize ring tones.
You can't put your fav. song or a part of it as your ring tone, it won't work.
You have to buy ring tones...unless you pay someone to unlock your cellphone...that way all mp3 files can be ring tones.
That's the only thing that pissed me off about it.

Basically you put some Mp3's on it...and usually if you click "More" you see "Send file to, Set as ring tone, etc..." the "Set as ring tone" is greyed out and you can't click it.

As you can see...ring tones mean a lot to me, lol.

Strange...
Must be another stupid American thing just like non-prepaid iPhones, cos out of the box we could use mp3's we loaded onto the memory card as ringtones and they worked fine.

I have a Motorola MOTOROKR Z6 which i bought for $450 last year and i am very jealous of her new phone, it's so much better than mine and it only cost me $199. I recommend it to everyone :)

lols, mine can do it, diff. region i guess. the phone's not bad, but battery is not very good, i had... 50+% and left it overnight without charge, and the next day, it was flat. and walkman laggs at times, esp changing songs and browsing thru the playlist

I have that phone, so a few things to input:

-- If she's a heavy, or even light, texter -- the keys tend to crack down the center. Not in half, just a little crack. I sent mine in to get it fixed, but I've read that quite a few people have this problem also.
-- I recommend sliding it a lot to get it worked out, unless you like the spring motion where it snaps up and snaps down. I liked mine more free-hand slide, so yeah.

Had this phone for a year or so, getting the AT&T Quickfire in 16 days.
^____^
