Source Dedicated Server Problems

Ok i have been runing a source server for a some time for me and my friend to play on (like cs s, synergy, well hl2 mods) and i go through the whole process of installing source and then doing

"...HldsUpdateTool.exe -command update -game Counter Strike Source -dir C:\Files\Hlds"

My point is its alot of stuff to download and wait so i decided just to copy the whole folder and zip it up to keep as back up so i dont have to reinstall everything again (like now)

So i unzip it before and worked fine but now when i extracted it once again and ran "srcds.exe" nothing appears so i think something is stuffed.
So i decided maybe if i update it, ok i did that restarted computer and still wont work.

How can i back up my source dedicated server without running into problems or how could i fix this?

(i dont wanna download cs s, hl2, hl2 dm, as these are required for some mods)
