Sql 2000? Sql 2005? Omg!

because you use SQL 2000 if already we are in 2008 and we have the SQL 2005 FREE and with more tools and bugs?

i am confusing with this, and sorry my newbie question

the sql 2000 is ussing for the users for it's more know. the sql 2005 (2008) work for the server cabal smoothly.

i tried 2000 but it says i need windows 2000 or NT or down. But on xp he doesn't want install..
