Well, they're american... and Americans are protected under the constitution to bear arms.

As for the guns in the UK, they're mostly illegally smuggled/ex-military smuggle.

A guy in my classes uncle is in jail for 9 years for shooting a police women and she died, and his cousin (also in my school) is in jail for stabbing a boy.
