For people who don't know the RCMP stands for the ''Royal Canadian Mounted Police''. They ensure Canada's protection and safety. Lately Canada's police force have become more of a disgrace, and something that should be protecting Canada. Behind the RCMP, are secrets, the RCMP killing innocent people that don't pose any harm. This is just one example of the RCMP brutality against immigrants.
This happened Sunday, Oct 14, in Vancouver's International Airport.
Robert Dziekanski, a Polish immigrant, dazed and confused from a 15 hour flight, arrived in Vancouver's International Airport and went to the primary customs. Proceeded to secondary customs, like any immigrant that couldn't speak English. After the customs, he waited in the arrival halls for more then 9 hours, waiting for his mother to show. He started to become increasingly frustrated, and then becoming frantic. While his mother was outside trying to speak to people with her broken-English. She drove home only to get a call saying they found her son. Only to find out he had died, 2 hours after she drove always the way to the airport. They told her that he had been killed, but that was not the true story. While Robert Dziekanski was waiting for his mother, a police officer tried to talk to him, but he knew little English. The police officer then turned his back to Robert Dziekanski and told his other ''buddies'' (other police officers) to come here. After that, the situation gets worse, after 24 seconds of trying to talk to Robert Dziekanski they taser him, 3 times. One taser makes you feel excruciating pain, 3 is death. An international airport, a place where everyone, and anyone, can come to, is now a place of a immigrant dieing. A person got this whole act of violence on film, and even yelled the to the officers ''He doesn't know English'', yet they still tasered him, repeatedly. It's said that before Robert Dziekanski was tasered, he opened his hands, almost like he didn't know what was happening, which means he was no harm to the officers. The police never showed the mother the tape of her son being tasered, until 2 days ago, where she said ''"I would describe it as something that will be shown to police academies around North America as not the way to intervene in this kind of situation."
I don't know about you, but I don't tolerate this kind of violence to someone that just came to enjoy Canada or anywhere.
