As the recent lack of intelligent threads, I decided to make this one.
someone starts with a riddle, if someone gives the correct answer, they can make a new one. and so on.

I'll start:

1
11
21
1211
111221
312211
13112221

What's the next sequence?

Re: The riddle thread

What English word is nine letters long, and can remain an English word at each step as you remove one letter at a time, right down to a single letter. List the letter you remove each time and the words that result at each step.

Re: The riddle thread

The word is "startling." Remove the "l" and it becomes starting. Then remove the "t" and it is staring. The rest of the changes are as follows: string - sting - sing - sin - in - and finally, I.

A man had twelve toothpicks in front of him. He took one away. Now he had nine in front of him. How is this possible?

Agreed. Instead, post riddles you know from elsewhere that aren't posted on the internet.

But most of the riddles in the world is on the internet already?
Unless its somekind of new one you just thought of this minute :x

Raising the bar...

Basic knowledge of maths is required for this riddle.

As you may know, the 3 corners of a triangle combined are ALWAYS 180 degrees. Now proof it in this image by drawing just 1 line.

No. Theere was no trading of cows in any form, unless someone had thought that female pigs were called cows.
Nice try. But I meant pig as in animal (irregardless of gender), and cow as in animal (irregardless of gender).
If you had a barreell and you need to make the barrel lighter but can't remove or add to it's contents. What do you do?
Climb to a higher altitude where the gravitational field is smaller. Lighter refers to weight and not mass.
