what can i say.

AN HERO

Surely i wasn't the only person who instantly thought of Dobby the house elf?

Definitely isn't the Autism that's causing it, theres definitely a 2nd problem there that is being masked by her inability to communicate due to the Autism. She cannot communicate to tell others what is wrong so she does the only thing she knows which lessens her pain. Or it could not be pain at all, it could be an extreme case of OCD and she is simply irritated by something.

Doesn't help only one other child has been identified with this type of illness, it isn't Autism - Sure of that.

The Autism might explain the non-communicating part. I didn't speak until I was 4, and even at that I had an American accent. As for the 2nd illness, probably something non-ASD related or related, the Autistic Spectrum takes in so many things it's incredible.

She cant communicate cause shes autistic and because of that they dont know whats wrong.
This is sad..

Its more sad when you have a brother about that age,

And with the autism she cant even tell anyone whats wrong =[

God knows how much stress is put on the mother of the kid.

I dunno if I did anything like that when I was a kid. Probably drives the mum nuts every day having to watch her daughter hit herself. Poor wee lass :/

@Laz Even the fact that if you try to stop hershe'll do it more :(

The story is sad, true. But I think that the real sad thing is that there is so much money-related stuff and laziness behind it... I'm sure that if the doctors' attitude wasn't all like "Oh, it costs us too much to treat her", or "Snap, I don't wanna deal with this stuff", she'd get the help she deserves.

I'm pretty sure that the reason for the self-harming is not related to autism. I mean, she can't communicate properly with other people, so it's very hard to find out what is the real cause of this behavior.

Man I have never seen anything like it.

I hope that her mum gets the help she needs to stop her daughter April from killing herself or like that other kid blinding herself. I mean even if I tried to punch and hit my head on things I can't help stopping because of the pain. Like holy crap she broke her own nose. I couldn't do that.

i never even knew stuff like this happened to kids makes me think that life isnt somethin to toy around with poor little girl
