the news part is from the database same used for the website
the updater downloads a zip instead of each fil sperate and unpacks it in the right place

Its a simple GunZ Anti-Cheat with Ping Limition, Auto Banning, Custom Launcher (Orginally the Project of 2008 - 2009):

Yeah, it's a change from the normal, but its not too different, maybe light the map up a bit more, make it a bit more stylish, it's only a login map.

The left sword of the 3 is going "through" the head of the render in the back, it looks odd.
Rest looks good though ^^
