ok i have a private server in which works fine while useing the jptclient/server files....no i wanna use the kptclient and i have files to go along with that the server will start up but when i go to connect to it from another computer it wont let me....it tells me connection failed....if i switch back to the jptclient/serverfiles and try to connect everything is fine....any clues?!

you need open right ports for diferente version. Jpt 10003, kptv2 10009

limp is correct. Ports were changed on both clients and server, this was done for many reasons, kira, server hack attacks, etc. I recommend getting the latest server and client, and checking their ports.

i never had to mess with ports to begin with....so im kinda lost in that matter....i use hamachi to connect to my server

hotuk, game client, ldata, other hotuk, registry, anything that has ip. any one of those could be the problem i could take a look into it if u want but its gnna take a while XD

If I am understanding you correctly, you are trying to login with the Admin client correct??
If so you need to make sure you have your correct ip and such in your hotuk file for the server. I had one hell of a time getting mine to connect from another computer outside of my network....it was just my ip was wrong for the admin settings is all. Don't know if this is your problem as well but, I just thought I would share the comment.
I also had to forward my ports correctly....if you let me know your routers make and model I can probably give you clear instructions on how to forward the correct ports....I mean thats if you want to do it instead of using hamachi (I've never used it).
