Troubleshooting SelGate and DBServer Connection Issues Mir2

Hi,

I need some help with a couple of snags I've hit when trying to setup a local server. I have the latest version of the server files and have setup the sql2000 DB.

When I run the set of .EXEs files the DBServer window keeps displaying Gate Connected and Gate Disconnected. Not sure why its doing this.

I can log into the game and reach the character selection screen but am unable to create a character. Whenever I click on the New character button and want to save the character nothing happens. At this point the SelGate window says Kick Off.

I have had a look around the forums and these issues have been mentioned a couple of times but I've not seen a solution to them.

I have this installed on windows vista btw...don't have access to an xp machine to install on. Unless this will work on a virtual machine...

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

As mentioned before I can log into the character select screen but cannot create a character and proceed any further.

The LoginGate and SelGate titles says ktest on them which doesnt seem right. Im not sure where to change this from ktest to diamond as the configs for these EXEs say diamond in them....????

Looks like I've managed to solve this issue :bounce8:

What I did was download and install the Sql2000 SP4 update. After that everything just seemed to work.

Given that a few people have had this issue installing SP4 may fix it for them also.
