For those of you that don't know, I just learned today from another ragezoner here, how to make your client and the MapleStory files downloadable directly from your site. Also, I did search for a guide to this but did not find it so I am now posting a guide for it, and yes I will give credits here at the beginning and then again at the end...

STEP 1: Put your client and maplestory files in a WinRAR archive

STEP 2: Put those WinRAR files in with you website files example: my server is DonutStory, (im not advertising), I am also using wamp, So I made a new folder inside the www folder called downloads, then i put the WinRAR files inside that folder.

STEP 3: Go to downloads.php or config.php or where ever your download links are located and put http://"site name here"/"whatever you named the folder that you put the WinRAR files in"/"name of the WinRAR file"

and it should work if your having problems PM me or leave a post in this thread.

isn't that obvious...
If you were to put text.txt in a directory and link it to it, wouldnt it be obvious a text file will open up, just like CSS and all other shitz... wow guides standards are seriously dropping...

Thankyou, i find this very usefull noob's who flame this dude. i would much rather it Come STRAIGHT from the site instead of some other site, that the people might not trust, this is a very good release you should give credit's though for the other dude BUT Thankyou for posting this make's my server much more trustworthy.. ty!

A lot of people should have figured it out if they are able to set up an own server and website.
Tho I gotta admit too that people who didn't knew that will be thankful, so its ok.

you need to add / or sumthing.

Just type yourfile.zip or yourfile.extension and it will recognize it as the file is in the directory it is currently in.

To view the content, you need to sign in or register
