Updated tutorial?

Anyone out there mind pointing me to a recent tutorial? i know there is some stickied but i honestly dont think they work well now since so much of the shit has been changed/updated.

i would like to setup a server with atleast 80d or 102 or w/e items, only for myself to test some builds.

ok, should of stated that this is NOT the first server i setup and have read every tutorial up there several time.

and yet i STILL dont have a solid working server (as far as loging on and what not goes).

I setup many server back in the day when the jPT files first got leaked and i have tried 6-7 times now and cannot get a server running.

i know i have the databases all setup right, ODBC correct, and my hotuk correct.

could be my clients for server/game but I havent a clue what clients match what game files anymore.

note: i used the pack in the releases that had the 150 cap client for game/server and wouldnt run.

im not even sure if im supposed to use a specific set of game files or not. no guide explains that. just says "look around".

The JPT age was a much better time since everything was kept simple.

Unfortunately, that is not the case anymore. Some reasons for this--

1. KPT Endless Towers -- A great release, but one that unfortunately did not include a client so item tables don't match (red flag issue).

2. Bad Server Packs -- Though people are trying to be helpful when making server packs, a lot of the time these contain errors from faulty editing. Some examples -- GM gear that wasn't removed and is dropped by monsters, sod errors, BC crown errors, etc. Usually these bad repacks don't come with any sort of client.exe that works with it either so again -- red flag issue if the tables don't match.

The above will give you an example server+client to use. They're not the most ideal, thus will require edits, but they work.

I had been wanting to make a server+client bundle release for the a very long time now, but due to college, work, and other things, I don't know when it'll happen.

Sadly i have been away from PT for too long to do this on my own, but if u wanna work when ever u got a little free time i'd gladly work with you.

I have a dedicated PC we can work on aswell.
