So, seemingly this section seems appropriate, if it isn't, my apologies.

Anyways. Ever since I got my new PC, i've had this serious echo, people keep telling me about on vent. It happens when I talk on vent, and while i'm talking, if someone else talks, they can hear themselves through my mic. I have a headset + mic, so no speakers that would make it so they can hear me. And my headset speakers isn't loud enough to relay through my mic on the headset.

Would it be my sound card? Realtek HD Audio.

I had it with my SoundBlaster X-Fi Extreme Audio sound card, the problem was that i had two microphones on in some setting. Otherwise, it might be "What you hear" activated somewhere. Check some settings for the sound card.

Do u have the Realtek HD Audio Manager installed, cz i have the same sound card and i installed it. Then go in it and then in Mictophone: there is be 2 options available to be clicked: 1. Noise Supression 2. Acoustic Echo Cancellation.

even if u have the headset, still it worth a try.

Put both on it should do the trick... hope it helps.

P.S.: i think that the manager comes with the new drivers...

u should CHECK it so it will reduce but like u said that doesnt change anything... and no i dont think there is a easyer interface... the one now sux truly... still ill look around that prob

EDIT: my bad u r right its supposed to be UNCHEKED

I found this lil guide... ppl say it helps:

The solution is as follows:

1. Download the latest version of the realtek driver (important)
2. double click on the windows speaker icon ( the realtek audio manager )
3. Go in Mixer
4. select playback properties
5. MUTE the microphone in the playback section
6. select recording properties
7. SELECT the microphone in the recording section

Hope it helps... i got those options set up and i am all fine...

sry for double post...

i know this issue :P its to do with the recording settings with you computer here is how to fix it.

go to volume controle on ur computer

start ---> control panel ---> sound and audio devices

In that section under the Volume Device click on advanced...

in volume controle click

Options ---> Props ---> click on the recording dot and make sure "Stereo Mix" is ticked in the box... click ok and u get a new pannel...

if stereo is ticked that is ur problem right there make sure the box it ticked in microphone instead of stereo mix. Stereo mix makes any sound played of ur computer loop back into you mic and eveyone will recieve that so who ever speaks hear them selves... its a good feature as u can play music of ur computer and other people can hear it at a better qulity of very the net.

So, I'm not quite sure what you're saying. On your instructions, you say make sure stereo mix is ticked, and on the last paragraph, you're telling me its bad? lol. Well, I ticked it off now anyways.

/confused

na make sure its not ticked... make sure its ticked on mic box (sorrys for mistakes i was in a class when typing it :P)

or its one of them too... just check each one as on mine when stereo is ticked i dont get feedback oO

Actually, if you are runnign an offboard (Meaning.. your using a purchased sound card) and yoru trying to use an input from that through a plug in accessory, such as a 5.25" drive bay adapter, or one of the 3.25" drive bay adapter covers.. such as with the X-Fi Fatal1ty and such. You will have to plug your microphone in from the back of the case manaully, through the card itself. If your trying to use a secondary input other then the first input coming from the back of the sound card, you will end up getting echo issues.

I know this because I had echo issues runnign through my own X-Fi Fatal1ty setup, and I switched through all the ports I coudl use, finally ending up at the base MIC input from the back of the sound card itself. and that fixed the problem.

If yoru running somethign otehr then that, then I'm not sure I can find a way to help sadly :-(

Hope it works.. Sometimes Vent and TS have problems with using offboard type sound, most especially with any creative labs/sound blaster sound I've noticed. Sometimes it forces ya to get back to the basics to make it sound right :-)
