Version does not match?...

I've been trying for days to be able to get someone to connect to my server. The registry, ldata and ptreg.rgx all have the correct version and IP. I can connect to it just fine, but for him it says "Version does not match." I've searched the forum endlessly, and I've tried everything. I tried changing my server-sided hotuk *VERSION to //*VERSION but that still didn't work. I'm using McMadness repack with -KPT-Endless-Tower-Update-V2.2.exe, dPT's client and a slightly modified version of a game.exe from some server called "Amazing PT"... I don't remember where I downloaded it from, I think it was in shagpub's kPT server release thread.

I can't connect to my server using any other client (I get incorrect version also), so I don't think he can... So what's the deal here? =/

EDIT: One more thing, I don't know if it matters or not but he's using Vista...

EDIT II: I forgot to add again, he can connect to private servers just fine. This is the only one he has problems with.

Why don't you send him the client you use which you can connect with and let him try with it? o.o

The fact is, that you cant use the "KPT-Endless-Tower-Update-V2.2.exe"
with the "McMadness_Repack" cause the version of the McMadness_Repack is 1855.
The Version of the "KPT-Endless-Tower-Update-V2.2.exe" is 1871.
So I should recommend you to download the Fusion_Dev_Repack, were you could download here: http://forum.ragezone.com/f286/beginners-how-setup-your-serverfiles-fusion_dev_repack-v1871-331160/ (the serverfiles are v1871 too) and there is no bug in there though. In the McMadness_Repack is there much bugs etc.
If you dont know how to setup this serverfiles are you able to read my guide on the link were you downloaded the fusion_dev_repack from. You can use this client to connect into your server (cause its the same client as the serverfiles are)

To view the content, you need to sign in or register

Its our client, but you can edit it in Hex Workshop if you want to.

Why don't you send him the client you use which you can connect with and let him try with it? o.o

Sorry, I worded something incorrectly. What I meant was, I can't connect to my server with any other client except the one I was/still am using, because I get the same error. So I assumed since he couldn't even connect with the client I could use, he couldn't connect with any other client as well.

The only bugs I had with McMadness (aside from this) was a few name mix-ups and dead hopy skill bugged. The client I have is fine, it just had a few item mix-ups which was easily hexed. But I will try using FusionPT server files, thank you.

Thanks for the help and the referral, but we got it worked out ourselves. We tried a crapload of clients, and one eventually worked. Mods can close/delete/whatever this topic.
