Virus In McMadness Repack

Not sure if it's a false alarm or not but my server's anti-virus made quick work of 2 files both entitled 'PoisonIvy.dat' found within' the userdata and userdata backup folders.

The viruses were listed as 'Univ.script/99a'

Just thought everyone should know just incase it's the real thing lol

I don't believe the virus itself, or file, is that much, or even a real threat. But just incase, you all may want to consider deleting that file. It's not needed anyway. Someone elses game account save. Thanks for the heads up Wh005h.

I would assume it's just a coincidental alignment of text to make what my virus scanner (McAfee) thought was a virus lol

For those who don't know, you can do the same thing with notepade

Like this above sets off an antivirus normally, even though it's harmless

The .dat files do not contain any virus. That's why a virus scanner is not a good idea in a server; it deletes innocent files.

Yah well I'm not really paying for this server and I'm trying to get the funding ready for Sunshine so this has kinda taken the lead and I thought I was done too but ohh well...

Most PT servers are just kinda giving up, rPT is pretty much unstoppable, even Josh more or less threw in the towel on this one.

Yah I'm already having trouble...
1. Version does not match (McMadness)
2. Unable to connect (Everything else, cept jpt)

Been working on this thing for like 3 days and still havn't even connected lol
So yah I'm kinda in the hole as well. Course I'm not paying for it nor do I really honestly care lol. This is kinda just for fun

But all this new stuff is really throwing me off

Yah and I'm about ready to throw in the towel for this project too...
We won't be able to make next month's server payment I'm almost certain and like you said, competing with rpt, which happens to be the supplier of most of the updates here, isn't looking too bright lol
Plus I'm just not into this project like I was when I started LunaPT.

Its not hard to setup, its pretty piss easy, theres just no point in trying to compete at this point with rPT. If you setup a new PT server and planned to go big, it would have to be lagless, crashless, and have some simply amazing and never before seen features.

cool hey is there a translated or ept server or something translated not sure wich i got i just downloaded the jpt server to get the guide and i had like i said dl'd the repack so just wondering do i need to dl the full english client and patch or which client i am going to need to be able to run never realized there was so much you had to know to put one of these together but ill get it yet thanks again sik

For the jPT files you use any EPT client (3096,3098,3100, etc etc)

Oh wow... ppl having trouble.. wellll i dont quit PT along ass time ago... quit comps totally since i sold my comp i built but in the next xouple of weeks im building a new one. so ill be back, but prolly not for PT. lol and it aint the i gaev up cuz of rPT. They can kiss my ass they take "compitition" to the xtreme lol. Then again im not one to judge on that. THe other day i made 4 quads roll so i could win the race... lol. NER BARS FTW!! and i got my quad lowered, hard to flip. ANYWAYS off subject... im going to a new game... *yawn*
