I'd recommend Shakugan no Shana as it's done by a lot of the same people including the same seiyuu lol

For pure comedy:
Bokusatsu Tenshi Dokuro-chan 1 & 2 (8 and 4 half eps) - Funniest anime I've probably seen (a bit of gore though)

On the action part I'd recommend:
D.Gray-man (103 eps) - always overlooked =/
One Piece (380 eps) - If you skip some of the fillers then it's actually pretty good, also a fair bit of comedy there. (my favorite of the big 3 mangas aswell)
Flame of Recca (53 eps) - Older anime but a fair bit of action
