Would This COmputer Specs Be Good To Hold A Gunz Server?
i only use this comp to host servers :P.
Specs:
Intel P4 2.4Ghz
1Gb Ram
40gb hard drive
10mbs internet connection. (bandwidthplace says download speed is 1.41mbs)
Would It Be Good>?

Your internet connection is pretty bad for a server, I would imagine your upload speed would be the most crippling problem. The hardware is ok I would say with these specs you could handle maybe 100 players at the most.

But expect a lot of item/lobby lag.

One good thing about running a Gunz server is that none of your bandwidth is used in an actual game other than for registering kills/deaths and items so if everyone is in game you shouldn't have much of a problem, for the same reason you don't need a great load of resources either.

My server specs when I finally get around to open will be:

Intel Dual Core 6.8 Ghz
2Gb DDR2 RAM, 667 MHz
500gb Hard Drive
100mbs Connection.

I hope to never have lag problems heh.

Its funny I think some of us have better servers than ijji/Maiet.

PS: I want your damn hard drives magician911.

6.8 ghz is impossible higest is 3.5 if done with regular cooling devices, if u wanted to use liquid nitrogen which would require a mad scientist to monitor it 24/7 and spent tons of money a day and STILL only get 5.3ghz, and a 100mbz line would take about 2000 dollars a month, for ppl who think a trilobyte is possible, it prolly is, buy about 400 750gigs and get alot of raids, maybe.... maybe.... in all other cases, i can host anything ppl want xP

my server is gunzp.com

By 6.8Ghz I was talking about total power from both processors.

The server machine is my property and not rented, I hear that certain data centers will maintain your server and rent out bandwidth on your own machine, if this turns out to not be true then I will have to make do with a 8mbs home connection until I think of an alternative.

But here take a look at my specs:

You honestly think I would lie to you about that? Why? What would be the point?

PS: I can get a server similar to this rented out with a 100mbs line for $500 a month, so 2k is a little bit of an over statement.
