That's absurd. If people want to ask for donations, they are by all means allowed to ask for donations. It doesn't matter if they aren't top, if a particular player likes a server and would like to donate money to help the server however large it may be, they are by all means entitled to help...

Bought it, played for a few hours. It seems to be nothing more then recoloured warcraft 3. Probably where it shines the most is the map editor, some of the custom games are epic.

Yes, but libraries need to be constantly updated, and many times you see almost 3-4 in the release section. On top of that the updating is done by only 1 person, so if that person decides to take a little break, then that library is pretty much dead. Like i said before, i believe this project...
