No its not n issue. Its a nooblet mistake not putting the application ya firewall and port forwarding it correctly...Should never have to take down the firewall unless you lazy or doing a quick test.

Nah the sad part is that on the test server i had it worked perfectly fine...But when you transfer the files to the server it breaks the zone...It was purely retarded what i had to do to fix it.

I don't see the issue with windows 8 honestly. I see people posting about and getting errors but i have not gotten open yet mentioned. Maybe i am just special? Or maybe i just know windows too much xD.

I had same issue that would get it to work. However i think it had something to do with the mobs not spawning fast enough or killed fast enough or so. Cause when i am on my GM power char and killallmob command i can easily run it no problem. But when i staticdmg it command at times it would...

I was having that issue even with the correct version. Was such a pain but one hella simple fix....Took me 3 weeks to figiure it out on my own..AND WITHOUT GOOGLING poop =_=

DDoS protection truthfully isnt even needed much. Most advance attacks now mainly for fiesta community is the world manager crash. Which seem to have no fix at all for. Only information regarding that it is an application layer attack. So good luck to you.
