are mysql xampp and mysql installer different??

if i installed mysql in xampp (or run) and i have sett password root its not sucsecfull connect to navicat when i input the paswword (acces is denied)

but iff i instal my sql installer and i sett the pasword it was succesfully conect to navicat (or other database manager)

why ya (kenapa ya? ) ??
