did you install sql 2005 as a named instance?

On a bridged connection there is no need to forward ports as a bridged connection is only used on a LAN and the router handles the port forwarding. If that 192.168.0.1 ip is not one of the vmware adaptors then you are on a lan and should use a bridged connection. Make sure you read the vmware networking guide in my sig for the notes about routers as there are some things you will need to know.i'm braking my head trying to config the wmware nat connection, i fowarded the ports, ports are responding using the port tester, but my internet conection crashes, mmm is there any way to foward the ports using a bridged connection??
when i try to connect the nat to the VMware Network Adapter VMnet8 i got a message, imcompatible with your subnet mask
my ip es 200.119.201.250
i have 2 network addapters one with the lan ip 192.168.0.1 ( used for share internet to other machines)
the wan ip 200.119.201.250
centos ip 192.168.0.100 with bridge connection works.
but when i create a nat it connects with the 192.168.0.1 and not the VMware Network Adapter VMnet8
how can i fix it? or configure ??
The key is whether the loginsvr log shows the login attempts. If it doesn't then you need to start checking the various things that could stop your connection getting to the server such as internal.txt being correct and using the batch file to launch the client not cabalmain itself. If you have a router and are trying to connect to the WAN ip is port forwarding working (check with an online port scanner) and if you only have a modem is your vmware port forwarding set correctly. Remember that some routers won't let LAN connections use the WAN address no matter what you do. Read the networking guide i mentioned above as this is definitely going to be networking somewhere.I have done everything i possibly can to connect to my server, I just cannot seem to make it work. I have read everything on this forum all the guides and still nothing. I have no errors or anything all the db's load and checked the logs and no errors. No idea what I am doing wrong.

me again
well now i got no message errors when i start the server
but i got some errors when i try to log
the services are ok in after starts the server, 10 minutes, 20 minutes and all ok
windows pings centos
centos pings windows
firewalls are off
here are my logs
It is having problems converting a date according to the error. What timezone did you install centos as?
The only other spot the IP should be in is the worldsvr ini files but cabal_config takes care of those.-4 gmt, i'm in bolivia
my windows and centos are in the same hour and gmt
im using the centos ip in the internal.txt
it's the only way to get a response from the server
i remember that are 2 files that need the ip in the client
one is the internal.txt that goes to the /data
but the other, can you please post it? or tell me the name for search?
now i connect to the server
but when i choose the 1st channel at mercury server the connection bar never stops and a message appears disconnecting me
in the world_svr_01_01.log a message appears when i try to connect

I can see 1 connection attempt in the loginsvr log but it didn't get as far as either accepting it as a valid user/pass or rejecting it. I think you took the logs before it managed to save the error. Try a few login attempts and zip the logs again. This will be an "sql server unavailable" i think so also let me know if you use sql 2005 express or not as well.Followed all of Chumpy's guides and still can not connect. Awfully sure I've configured everything right.
hi, i was wondering if is it possible to run the server and play the actual game in just one machine?
I mean to use one pc as the centos server mssql database server and at the same time run cabal game and connect to your own server, and if it is possible what would be the setting for such a setup?
I can connect to the server now, however when I try to make a character I get "Cannot proceed with the command due to unknown DB Errors. Please try again"
EDIT: Sorry, forgot the server logs . I'm using SQL Server 2005
