Hey SunnyZ,

I like others have the same issue with admin.exe crashing. Hotuk, ptReg.rgx, a.rgx (in the sky folder) have been changed to reflect the appropriate IP of my PT VirtualBox (which has it's network setting on Bridged). To no avail.

Really at a lost here (like others) - due to the lack of solutions when admin.exe / PsTale.exe fails to launch (windows 7)

Can you elaborate on this?

Thanks!

The game has often had troubles for people who use vista/7
I personally run windows 7 64bit, never had any issues with it.

I did not develop this game client or server, I just compiled this server into an easy to run package.
So I can offer no actual support...

But maybe try downloading visual basic run time files:
Or perhaps .net framework:

I use these files to run the server, may they help in running the game as well?

Also just a note, you CAN NOT run the game on the virtual server. Only the server.

Anyone found a solution to the Admin.exe crashing at startup?
I have 3 computer :
2 desktop running windows 7 pro, Admin.exe not crashing on those
1 Laptop running windows 7 home premium, Admin.exe was running fine a few time but then it started crashing after the Yedang logo. Did a factory reset, it worked a few more times, and then started crashing again...
I tried compatibility mode with no success.

I have found what was causing the crash on my laptop.
My laptop has a preloaded trial version of Norton Internet Security.
As soon as I uninstall this, Admin.exe starts crashing.

Thanks for the reply, and furthermore the hard work you've been putting into compiling as well as helping folks out. :)

Really great idea about the VB Runtime files and .net framework - however I'm still having the same issue. What's interesting is it only errors out unless I do compatibility for windows 2000 @ 256 colors, disabling all "visual effects" etc, otherwise (I'm also using Win 7 64bit) it appears to open and then quickly close with no error box.

What's more peculiar is launching PsTale.exe still indicates "Cannot connect to server" even after changing the appropriate rgx files with the IP of my VM.

And yes, the game isn't being launching within the VM.

As soon as you uninstalled it? Not installed it started not working?

I'm only using malwarebytes and I actually tried to disable it to no success.

Did a factory reset -> Norton Internet Security is installed -> admin.exe works.
Uninstalled Norton Internet Security -> admin.exe starts crashing.
If i re-install Norton Internet Security, admin.exe works again.

Hey-

So I've changed my a.rgx, my ptReg.rgx - and the client (PsTale.exe) is still trying to access an external IP which is not the one's I've designated it to point too.

Really hoping you can shed some light on this sunny.

You don't run the launcher pstale.exe
You run admin.exe

Heya fellas.

I have made a new youtube account, found the original copy of the video and have re-uploaded it.

Same story as before, can not post DL links here, so they are in the videos description + I've posted a comment on the video with all links.

God damn I hate youtube...

Thank you for uploading. :)
The server files (PT-Server.part1.rar) till PT-Server.part3.rar seems to work :D

However i've got a tiny problem with the game client.
Downloading the file: MPT-FullClient3135.exe goes well, but installing doesn't seem to work.
I'm getting the following error all the time:

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
C:\Program Files (x86)\MysteryPT\Field\Fall_Game\front7.bmp

An error occurred while trying to copy a file:
The source file is corrupted.

Click retry to try again, Ignore to skip this file (not recommended), or Arbort to cancel installation.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If I skip the file, than the next file is corrupted as well (and so on):
C:\Program Files (x86)\MysteryPT\Field\Fall_Game\front8-f.bmp
C:\Program Files (x86)\MysteryPT\Field\Fall_Game\L-e.tga
C:\Program Files (x86)\MysteryPT\Field\Fall_Game\L-l.tga
C:\Program Files (x86)\MysteryPT\Field\Fall_Game\L-m.tga
This continues a long time ;)

I've already tried to re-download the installer, but the errors remains.
Might there be an issue with the installer?
Are there more people with this problem?
Is an re-upload of the installer an possibility?

Thanks,

Pr3tender

I just downloaded it, extracted it and installed it.
Worked perfectly fine.

I'm guessing your download has corrupted it self, or your hdd has bad sectors.

To verify your download grab this tool:

The MD5 Checksums for the downloads are below

Code:
•MPT-FullClient3135.exe
[B]4121AEE1E1595964068A2B58BDB94D55[/B]

•MPT-FullClient3135.part1.rar
[B]A48E081EB93DE5578D52B49FE00BBEDA[/B]

•MPT-FullClient3135.part2.rar
[B]B8A14BB6EFDF9BA7F41F2B75E7C27DDC[/B]

•MPT-FullClient3135.part3.rar
[B]088FC30ED89A57D1BFF83EC7972F5D5C[/B]

•MPT-FullClient3135.part4.rar
[B]2517E778BFA2F6064AB1B58A8DE052AC[/B]

•MPT-FullClient3135.part5.rar
[B]F46A2F29BCC34C68512414D95DA1969D[/B]

If they do not match up, your downloads have become corrupted while downloading.

Thank you for your reply.
I've tried to make the checksum but de MD5 file did not match up.
I'ved Googled the file: "MPT-FullClient3135.exe" and downloaded the file from another host called: 4share.
After waiting a long download time i was able to install the client.

Thank you for uploading the server content, it works perfectly! :thumbup1:

Admin.exe crash again and again!

You could try the following:
01: Try turning off your Antivirus software and firewall / Windows Firewall.
02: Restart your Windows system.
03: After you restart your computer, go to the compatibility settings (right click on the admin.exe file -> properties -> tab: Compatibility) and "Run this program in compatibility mode for" (and select: Windows XP SP3).
04: Turn on the privilege level (Run this program as an administrator).
05: Click Apply
06: Click Ok
07: Try starting the file: admin.exe
(!): If the game starts but crashes while playing the game, than read this:

You are trying to connect to the game as an admin when the server does not recognise your new account as an admin account. You have 2 options.

•If you want to connect with a normal (non admin) account, you must remove LocalPT.ini from your client install, it is located in the savedata folder.

•If you want to enable admin access to an account, you must add the login ID to your server side hotuk.ini settings file.
Located at C:/PT-Server
Find the line *DEBUG_ID admin
You can add new admin enabled logins to this list
*DEBUG_ID LOGINID
eg
*DEBUG_ID kitsunesaqua

Both ways will remove the disconnection when you get in game.

Hope it helps  (for me it did).
