[Guide] Extracting pack.loc and editing watermark

Firstly, I need to explain where the text files are.

In your client folder -> data\packs ... there you will have a lot of .pak files.
The one we are interested in ( for the English pack ) is called LocPack.eng

A. Download Total Commander here :

B. Download ao-tools here : http://forum.ragezone.com/f745/tools-loc-extractor-compiler-client-816924/#post6813973

C. Run Total Commander and do steps 1-10.

Now we need to prepare for Extracting and Recompiling.

D. To makes things easier, copy these files and folder from ao-tool, to your folder where pack.loc was extracted.

E. Now we need to run the extracter.exe

Goto a command prompt and change directory like so :

Now type : loc.extracter.exe pack.loc F:\Games\Allods\Working_Folder\pack

and press Enter. ( It will take a minute or so to extract )

You should see this now:

Now you should have a "pack" folder in your Working_Folder.

F. Navigate to this file :
F:\Games\Allods\Working_Folder\pack\Client\Watermark.txt

Edit this file as you like, for example :

When you are done, save the file and close it.
Once you have finished changing all the files you like, follow these steps to re-compile.

G. Delete the original pack.loc file from your Working_Folder

Goto a command prompt and change directory like so :

F:\Games\Allods\Working_Folder

Now type : loc.compiler.exe F:\Games\Allods\Working_Folder\pack pack.loc

and press Enter ( nothing will happen for a while, just leave it )

You should see this now:

You will now have the recompiled pack.loc in your Working_Folder.

H. Go back to Total Commander.

I use a dual view to make things easier.

Click on OK
Click on Overwrite
Close Total Commander

When you log into your game, your updated text will now be visible. :thumbup:

lol i use this way
but the problem is cant compiler it
couz i folder
i try many way to compiler all is fall

and another thing
\Client\Watermark.txt
i dont find this file in client
or i create it ?

done i extract perfect and find the file watermark.txt

the problem now cant compiler all folder to (pack.loc)
and compiler folder (LocPack) to (LocPack.eng)
i wait your test & answer

just try save the file in (utf-8) by note
i think the text gone couz this

when i press f5 in Total Commander
he just copy the file to target
and not dump any thing

plz i hope add full guide as soon as

I does some things for compile:
1) Launched compiler from succesfull folder
2) Worked with decompiled files in 'extracted' folder(inside folder of tools).
3) Zipped all with total commander tool.
And it's working.

Try to remove the word in red. Then try again.

note: Paths do NOT need to be absolute /output/ works as well as c:/i/put/my/poop/too/deep/workingfolder/whatever/output/

both ways just /outputdirname/ will work fine

So, in other words, he could've just added a \ to the end of his \pack and it would've worked?

Or do you mean the path to the exe does not have to be absolute?

Sorry if i'm not clear with my question. It's early in the morning over here.

Sorry if i'm not clear with my question. It's early in the morning over here.

yeah you don't need the full path so loc.extractor.exe pack.loc /directory/ will output it to a directory named directory in the same folder as the exe and such
