Hex Values within a file?

I'm making a program which edits the hex values within the file.
How would I make it so I tell vb6, yes vb6, where to replace a hex with another hex code i specify?

Your question isn't quite specific/clear enough, but anyhow, the basic steps would be:
1) Open the file in binary mode
2) Seek the correct position
3) Write new data there
4) profit!
