You most likely named the wrong instance name when picking.

Whatever you named your SQL server while installing it, although it should automatically look for installed SQL servers.

Re: [Guide] [jPT] Guide to set up PT Server

Renhunt no longer comes around here from what I've seen, you may want to try running the ODBC section of the guide through a translator or get someone fluent in Hebrew and English to translate it.

Re: [Guide] [jPT] Guide to set up PT Server

That "Game client" varies depending on which server files you are using, if you your using the jPT server files then you need to use the 3096 client, if kPT(Older) 2331, if the newer kPT then 1840 through the 1859 clients.

Use newer files found in the RFT thread and the new setup guide (both stickied)

Re: [Guide] [jPT] Guide to set up PT Server

I already tried 1855 files, and all server files in RFT thread. Some of them don't appear monsters when I start the server ( I already put char and Field ).
And some of them happen same thing: kor message in jpclient_A and can't connect, Unable to connect in game.exe.

Re: [Guide] [jPT] Guide to set up PT Server

IP = ip from whatismyip.org

DB
  • had no problem creating the database & runing the providing init SQL & adding a user

Server
  • BeyondNiteFall Repack
  • Server Version: 1860 (start server with 4096.exe)
  • downloaded "Renhunts_Coplete_server_files.rar", extracted to server folder
  • copied the "Char" Folder and "Field" folders from rPT client to server

Client
  • rPT 1.85.9 -> Downloaded from rPT website, this is the version from logon screen
  • ran that registry file after updating it with my IP and modified ldata.bmp with this IP and moved to client/image folder
hotuk.ini
  • updated hotuk.ini file with my IP
  1. *GAME_SERVER zPT xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
  2. *SYSTEM_IP xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
  3. *CLAN_SERVER xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx 80 xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx 80
  4. *TT_DATA_SERVER xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
  5. *ENABLE_CLAN xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx 80 xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx 80
  6. *LAN_SERVER xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
  7. *CONNECT_SERVER xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
  • before realizing that client isn't actually connecting to server properly, modified the ODBC entries
  1. *ODBC_TABLE_PLAY
  2. *ODBC_TABLE_PASSWORD PASS
  3. *ODBC_TABLE_IDNAME USER
  4. *ODBC_TABLE ClanDB
  5. *ODBC_PASSWORD [password i created fot db]
  6. *ODBC_ACCOUNT sa
  7. *ODBC_NAME [server name from SQL Server Management Studio Express]
Problem
  • launching the game.exe file, still connecting to rPT servers
  • using the "Private Launcher.exe" obtained with "Mega Tools Repack" with either the "local server" option or providing IP still ends up with the game connecting to rPT servers. (i know this because i can log in to my rPT account)
  • "jpclient_A.exe" gives me "Gameguard Errors : 153" in a web browser

Is there anything that is out of place here? Did i screw up somewhere?

note: server running with no problems. displays monster count in range of 9x-2xx
system: windows xp pro, 2gb ram, way too much stuff installed :(

Re: [Guide] [jPT] Guide to set up PT Server

You can't use rPT's Game.exe's, their protected. Also I don't know why your using the BNF Repack and Redhunts server files, only use BNF. No reason to be using the jPT admin client (jpclinet_A.exe).
