Removing black bars

I searched for 'CharSelection' in source but havent found out what to change to get black bars removed...

It is related to blacknullframe.tga (or black_bg.tga) in default.mrs, but when I remove it, black fog after choosing a character disappears aswell.

i think it's the "CharSel_TopScreen" that you have to remove, but...what do you mean with "black fog" ?

Seems to be the CharSel_BGImgTop and CharSel_BGImgBottom widgets in CharSelection.xml

The fade out effect when you select a character...
