Re: [Guide][Security] Securing Your Server * 1x Game Server *

What do you mean with this ?!

Step 2) Notice how all these guides make you add information in the System DNS, well instead of that, add it to User DNS. Read the description under both and you might understand why!

he means

when you setup the ODBC,you will find many tabs,User DSN,System DSN and more

add your databse sources in User DSN not in the System DSN

thats all

Summary:

- This will pretty much make your remote connection local, so if anyone knows your database username/password you will never be hacked because they cant do poop with it anyways!! Because your sql/port are all local host!
THIS IS ONLY FOR 2005 EXPRESS NOT 2008 RC2

Thanks !!! for your tut !!
But how can i secure sql 2008 ?

Thanks !

The default FTP Server use port 21 .Better enable both protocols TCP/UDP in FW.
Actually, only TCP. People should only to READ the files and sending some request to the server to edit those files and not contacting the FTP server instead.

UDP can be abused and exploited for a complete manipulation of saved emblems and other stuff saved inside the FTP instance.
