I've beat MegaManx7, didn't use any codes or anything at all.

Took me a while to beat the last boss though, and that's the only MegaManx im capable of beating legit till this day. :/

Yeah Mega Man stops after Mega Man X3 for me.. but seriously, did they want people to kill themselves? I feel so f*cking stupid when I know some 12 year old witch could run though it their first try, and I've been stuck for hours...

I am the master at Mega Man X.

I played it every day from age 3 to age 10.

When Megaman X Collection came out on PS2 I played Megaman X every day since.

I can beat it in my sleep.

I eat, drink, and piss Megaman X.

GUIDE: (spoilers)
1.kill chill penguin, get boot capsule.
2.kill storm eagle, get heart/sub tank and helmet capsule.
3.kill flame mammoth w/ tornadoes, get heart/sub tank & buster capsule.
4.kill spark mandril with ice, use tornados on miniboss, get heart tank.
5.kill armored armadillo with electric spark, get heart/sub tank.
6.kill launch octopus with rolling shield, get heart tank.
7.kill boomer kuwanger with homing torpedo, get heart tank.
8.kill sting chameleon with boomerangz, get heart tank and armor capsule.
9.return to chill penguins level, get heart tank w/ fire.
10.return to spark mandrils level, get sub tank w/ boomerangz.
11.return to armored armadilos stage, get the health powerup at the end of the level (above the door), finish level, repeat till the Hadouken capsule appears there.[optional]
12.do work...

if you survive:
- use homing torpedos on vile.
- use ice on the spider.
- use x-buster on the next 2 mofos.
- use ice on sigmas dog, chameleon sting on sigma, rolling shield on velguader.

protips:
- learn to recognize enemy animations - they almost always giveaway their next attack.
- Don't waste any subtanks on dog/sigma; save all 4 for velguader.
- Jump while dashing = Dash-Jump.
- all enemies respawn when they leave your screen.
- use charged rolling shield on the idiot bats at the beginning of armored armadillo's stage to refill your subtanks.
- do this
DaCheat - [SNES]Mega Man X - RaGEZONE Forums

- the fire pwnz tank mobs.
- when all else fails, use the tornadoes.

P.S. X4 is amazing; and to settle the debate of "which is considered true mmx games" once and for all:

Wikipedia said:
Originally, Keiji [Inafune] had intended to end the series' plot at the installment of Rockman X5, and had begun development on the Rockman Zero series, in order to elaborate on the character of Zero. However, he had departed to another studio in cooperation with Inti Creates, and unbeknown to him, another installment, Rockman X6, was created. This set a slight continuity error in Keiji's intention for the plot, but through some changes in the storyline, was alleviated.

I still liked X6 and X7, however X8 fail. also,
I think Maverick Hunter X is a cool guy, eh let's you play as Vile and doesn't afraid of anything.
Inafune was involved with that one so it's a legitimate "true mmx" on PSP.

First SNES game I ever played, and probably my favorite.

I think I got to everything but the last boss at like...the age of 5?
